Really pissed off with what I've been reading today. Firstly, Riyad Mahrez has been ordered by a judge to pay £3, 612 to his childrens' nanny in respect of a shortfall in her wages. He earns some £200k per week and this represents just one hour of his obscene salary but is obviously worth a lot more to her. I'm absolutely disgusted by this. Not content with earning a life changing sum every month, he has resorted to cheating the nanny out of what is rightfully hers - and I bet she works a lot harder than he does for her comparative pittance. An absolute disgrace!! Footballers!!:mad:

Next I read about those royal freeloaders Prince Harry and his equally grasping wife Meghan. The taxpayer, that's US, is funding the renovation of their cottage to the tune of £2.4 MILLION with an extra £500k to be spent on the exterior! Just before their wedding Harry was reported as saying, "What Meghan wants, Meghan gets". Nice work if you can get it and I have no objection to this so long as THEY PAY FOR WHAT SHE WANTS AND GETS THEMSELVES. In times of austerity for most of us, that pair of royal scroungers should be taught a few of the hard facts of life.

Finally, the scandal at Southern Water beggars belief. This firm has been fined £126 million for 'fixing' sewage samples. Appalling standards including poor maintenance and pollution spills were uncovered during a two year inspection. Bosses deliberately misrepresented performance standards, which would have resulted in numerous fines for missing Government targets. Yet CEO, Matthew Wright, trousered £2.6 million in bonuses ON TOP of his £2 million salary during the 2011-16 sample fixing. Over the same period, the chief financial officer took £900k in bonuses on top of his £1.2 million salary. OFWAT said, "What we found is shocking. The company was being run with scant regard for its responsibilities to society and the environment.

The Environment Agency has launched a criminal investigation into Southern Water. Great! And if those arseholes are found guilty I hope they do some serious time. I'm finding the same thing with national charities where the executives are earning six figure salaries. No longer will they be getting my dollar. I prefer to support local charities where I know that most of the money will go to the cause and not to some fat cat's back pocket.

Tts a sad state of affaires when the people we choose to represent our wellbeing and health resort to deceit to allow them to maintain their overpaid salaries and bonus's
It goes on in even larger circles, Volks Wagon were fined $100M by an American court for purposely programming the ECU's in their diesel vehicles to show that exhaust emissions were within the required standard. Its still a very much ongoing thing in Europe. Millions of VW cars sold in that period, and owners are still claiming, they have to give vehicle info (Vin No. engine size etc) to some sort of an ombudsman. Successful claimants are receiving £1,300 on average. I think the claim period ends in mid Sept this year. An expensive lesson learned by VW.
Its unfortunate the wrong doers in Ivor's case are not able to compensate the general public, but it must surely be within the courts jurisdiction that they never hold any Environment related job ever again.

Below is another example, this time from a local council. I suppose they have to be creative in topping up their employees' index linked pension pots but this is just plain shameful!!

Grieving sisters are fined £200 because they took too long to say their final goodbye to their father causing his funeral to overrun by 48 seconds
Another example of what extremes local councils will go to bleed the last penny from bereaved families. The above cases are nothing short of absolutely disgusting. People should be very mindful of these council members when re-elections come around. I agree there has to be a timescale on these services, maybe a 15/20 mins. allowance. But when your breaching the service time by seconds, and fined for it, then something has to be seriously done. This is why we have local MP's, give them a genuine case to pursue rather than the usual garbage they stand up in the commons and spout about.

The fine should have gone to the funeral director not the bereaved family , not that a fine should have been imposed anyway !

Apparently the fine does go to the funeral directors, they in turn pass it on to the families, there are some that swallow the cost themselves, where others pass it on, but as you say Blobs, the situation should never arise anyway.
