Away to the Blades on day one , it will be shown live on Sky with a 5.30 pm kick off time.
Our first home game will be the following Saturday against Preston , let's hope we can give them the same 4-0 drubbing we gave them last time they visited the liberty !

Not an easy fixture to kick off the season but it will be a true test of our mettle and give us a bloody good idea of the type of football that Pots will have us playing. Do we defend away against a strong Championship team and hit them on the counter? Or do we go for it and try to impose our passing game on them? I'm assuming that we will have a passing game cos that's how Pots did it in Sweden.

However we play it, though, we need a strong start to our campaign to give us confidence and impetus.

Will we have our existing back four at the seasons start? Doubtful, Pots was expected to bring a couple of defenders with him,not sure if any of that has materialised.We also need to inject some pace into the midfield,rather than getting to the halfway line and start playing it square or back.If we are to get stuck with Bony and his ludicrous wage,then I think Pots needs to dig out some of the old vids where we were the only club to get results from him with our midfield play,he was pretty lazy then,almost rooted to the pen. area,and that was almost four years ago.

Keeping Fede gives us the option of 3 at the back with him, VdH and Bartley. Don't know how Pots will prefer to line up but he's known for changing formation and tactics to win a game. If there's no Fede, who will step in? Maybe he'll promote an U23 to the squad or perhaps he's got someone in mind to sign up. As for Williams - no thanks!! I'll never forgive him for his part in the Laudrup affair but he's older and slower now and no good for us. Let him top up his pension pot elsewhere.

Always enjoyed the Forrest games in this division,always good banter,and to be fair their fans were among the first to wish us well on our promotion to the Prem.

They've just signed Soudani from Dinamo Zagreb for something like £2m. He is a good striker.

The Leeds game is now on a Tuesday for sky TV
Good news for me but bad news for @ivoralljack ... Who would have had my ticket as I can't go to Wed games !
