I don't think there's any point in getting precious and sensitive about player movement. As long as players like Fab and Mawson give us 100% whilst they are with us that's all we can hope for . In any walk of life people move on if there's a better opportunity available, and it's a bit of a cliche, but a footballers' career is relatively short so it's understandable they want to maximise their earnings / success opportunities during that time before it's too late ... it was ever thus, with the rare exceptions of Sir Stanley Matthews etc. On a brighter note, fantastic start to the season with max points from the first 2 matches ... the game against Leeds next week will be a good benchmark. Quietly optimistic at the moment, just not sure if we have the strength in depth to sustain a promotion push ! ... PS .. does anyone know how old Bony is ?? : )

Bony's 29yrs old. 30 come 10th of Dec.
Like yourself not too sure if we have the sufficient squad to push for promotion. A lot will depend on if the purse strings are loosened in Jan.,but not really a good window, players tend to be over valued and that in itself is enough to produce a 'no no ' from Jenkins.

Thanks for the info Re Bony, I'm a little surprised if 29 is accurate but maybe he just looks older and seems to have been around for ever ! ... the transfer window is certainly over inflated for the same reason as players become over valued towards the transfer deadline day ... which begs the question, why is Jenkins not more proactive before the frenzy starts ?

I don't think Jenkins' pea size brain has the ability to think in that direction. For as long as I can remember he's always waited until the last day or two of the window to see what bargains are left, then scrape the barrel and come up with total disasters ie.- N'gog, Luke Moore etc. Will he ever learn ? Never.

I don't have any problems with players leaving....for the right amount of money and, most importantly, when transfer money is reinvested in the squad.

As for our start to the season it's been really good. I would say it's been better than expected considering we've lost almost the whole first XI from last season. We don't have the strength in depth to push for the promotion, but with Bony back and some good signings in January, who knows? Right now we have a mid-table Championship squad imho.

That seems a pretty fair analysis of where we are. In fact the more I look at the teams in the Championship the more you realise just how many strong clubs/teams are in it , and how bloody difficult it will be to claim those top 3-4 places ! ... Leeds, Villa, Forest etc etc, actually, with the exception of perhaps Rotherham, and Brentford, the whole division consists of teams who have regularly achieved Premiership or old First Division status !! ... changing the subject slightly, I was sent a joke the other day which fits perfectly with the current football climate ... Things which didn't exist 12 years ago : YouTube, WhatsApp, Instagram, Airbnb, Uber, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Man City Fans ... : ) !!!
