The overhead in operating Wrexham over the last few years is less than the Swans ... this is for sure. Yet, the Swans have benefitted from millions in revenue from players that have been sold. In that respect it's probably a toss up in terms of cash flow differences. The real question comes down to funds spent on player acquisitions. Now these comparisons would have to be made percentage wise since the absolute numbers would not compare at all ... I presume. I'll try to take a look at the financials of both clubs and see what comparisons can be drawn.
In broad terms: Wrexham is a growth club; Swansea has declined into being a factory club. Our acquisitions have been lacking character and leadership ... we see this on the field every match. Our dependence on loanees has been excessive at times especially during Andy Pandy's term of office, although the quality of the players borrowed has been top notch for the most part. Our use of our U21, especially Whitaker and Josh Thomas, has been poor. Who would you prefer to see at #9 now: Cullen, Yates or Thomas. Yates would be ranked 3rd for me, and 4th if I included big Myk. Given his performance pre-season, I see no reason why Thomas should not have been given the opportunity he demonstrated that he deserved.
