Insane game of darts as Gez edged MVG 6-5 after being 0-2 down. MVG missed a 9 darter by a whisker, Gez missed 4 match darts and MVG missed one match dart. Oh, and along the way they amassed 7 maximums each in 11 legs!! Gez averaged 108+ to that of about 105 for his opponent. Gez now plays the winner between Peter Wright and Bully Boy. Wright is bottom of the league but tonight came back from 0-4 down to Nathan Aspinall to make the semis. Not making any predictions because I'm wrong so often but Gez is in fine form. That's all I'm saying!

Gez meets Bully in the final. Wright was sitting on double 18 match dart against Bully who took out 160 and then the next leg to win 6-5. Should be a cracking final. I've noted something about Gez. It's how often, after fumbling or even dropping a dart, he picks it up then plonks it straight in the 60 bed. He actually dropped a dart when he made a 9 darter (one of two he did on the night) last year in Belfast. Made no difference as he picked it up and banged it into treble 20. The skill of today's darters just takes my breath away at times.

Btw, Gez's average for the night so far is 112+ against Bully's 94+. But it's a brave man who bets against Bully these days!

Gez won the night 6-3 without ever getting close to the form he showed in the previous rounds. Both players averaged in the mid 90s. Bully wasn't at his best all evening and Jonny must regret the opportunity to have beaten him earlier. But Bully is such a dangerous player. He can be miles behind in a leg then bang in a 180 to bring himself right back into contention. MVG still tops the table with 29 points but Gez, with his 4th win this season, is right on his tail with 27. Bully is in third whilst Jonny completes the top 4. Night 12 in Rotterdam next week.

The night wasn't advertised in the TV listings anywhere that I could see. As luck would have it, about 2:45 ish I was having a quick channel trawl before bed and I see Jonny playing Chris Dobey. Jonny won 6-4 and, as the next game up was Gez v Bully Boy, I decided to watch it. Gez beat him 6-3 to progress but he wasn't happy about something or other, He kept looking over his shoulder and muttering to himself a lot. In fact the comms were discussing and speculating on what might be bothering him all through the game. On one occasion Gez dropped his dart after planting the first two in the 60 bed. The comms asked why he should be bothered after a max with his first two then he banged the third one in there for good measure. He finished the game in good humour chatting happily to Bully but what was bugging him still remains a mystery. I taped the rest then went to bed. Hope to have more news when I watch it later. Hope the recording was okay!!!

Missed some but I saw Aspinall beat Gez 6-4 in the final. Gez was unhappy again shouting with frustration at times and the comms said he was livid about something that caused him to throw several darts way off target in anger. Seems there was a door being opened and closed near the stage that was upsetting him. Despite that, the game was played in very good spirit and both players were all smiles at the end after congratulating each other on good shots during play.

The Asp beat MVG 6-5 on the way whilst Gez hammered Jonny 6-1 and is almost certain to qualify for the play-offs. Gez is now top with 30 points; MVG has 29; Jonny is on 20 and Aspinall fills the final qualifying slot with 19. But it's all to play for. Bully is lurking on 18 and others are in striking distance of third and fourth.

Leeds is next up and poor Jonny has to play Gez again in the quarters - the same Gez that the pundits are saying is throwing the best darts in the world right now!

Night 13 in Leeds and Bully beat Gez 6-4 in the final. Gez is scoring really well but missing lots of doubles especially his favourite 20s. and 10s. He was 2-3 down but comms said he could have been 4-1 up!! As he's now top of the table leading MVG by 4 points, Gez is already in the play-offs so maybe the edge to win isn't quite there. He beat Jonny 6-2 averaging 110 and change then beat Aspinall 6-3. Jonny sits in 5th place and needs some wins to make the finals night. Night 14 in Manchester next week.

Just a note about Jonny who won his second European Tour title by taking the Austrian Open in Graz recently. He survived 2 match darts in the semis after trailing 0-3 and 3-6 before edging the final against Josh Rock. Jonny won a nice trophy and a nicer £30 grand to go with it. :) He averaged just over 101 for the tournament.

Premier League night 14 in Manchester. Jonny edged Peter Wright 6-5 in the quarters. At 2-2 comms were saying that Wright should have been 4-0 up. Jonny threw 16 wayward darts and typically, on one throw, his first dart was a 60 and his score was 68!!! He's beating himself in effect. If he could cut out most of the sliders consistently he'd probably be in the top three players in the world. Gerwyn goes later against MVG, 1 and 2 in the table right now. Jonny in 5th place needs some good nights to try and make the top 4 for finals night. Maybe starting tonight?

MVG just tuned Gez 6-2 in the quarters. Not sure how fussed Gez was about the game as he's already qualified for finals night. That said, so is MVG so I guess he wanted the win more. He certainly seemed a lot more intense about things. And good to see that the game was played with very good humour on both sides.

Jonny managed to miss 6 match darts (up until then he was finishing like a demon with an 83% double success) but still beat Chris Dobey 6-3 to make the final. There he'll meet the winner of the semi between MVG and Bully Boy both of whom are bang in form. Should be a great game between those two. On present form either should beat Jonny in the final but, whatever happens, Jonny has edged into 4th place in the table.

Bully beat MVG 6-4 after missing 3 match darts at 5-3. He has to be favourite to beat Jonny who just doesn't score heavily enough. We'll see.

Bully far too strong for Jonny winning 6-3. Bully had a 10 darter missing the 9 by a whisker then in the next game he was on for a 9 again. He was on fire at one late point in the match averaging 121 plus and finished with a 60% double success. He took out 100 with a 20 and 2 double tops. Jonny averaged near 100 but he couldn't live with Bully's scoring and slid 8 more darts into the minor beds to help Bully's cause..... as if he needed it!

Darts is a frustrating game , in last night's league game i went for a 138 out shot , nailed the two treble 20s then got nowhere near the double 9 ,four further visits to the oche and I still needed double 9 ! With reflection I should have switched to 2 , then double 8 and maybe I'd have won the game:eek: doubles are a strong point of my game so I was quite pissed off last night .

I know what you mean. Back in the day when I could play I was in a game of 301 with my mate, double off. I was on my finishing double of 6 by the time he started and yet he won the game because I couldn't finish. In frustration I still took my throw and planted all my three darts in the double 6!!! For some strange reason I really like the side of the board 18; 4; 13; 6; 10 although you'd never guess that looking at me throwing today. :ROFLMAO:

Week 15 in the Premier League in Sheffield and just one more week before finals night. Gezzie drew Nathan Aspinall in the quarters and played some breathtaking darts to beat him 6-2, He averaged 111.33 against Nathan's 104.41 (good enought to win most games but not tonight). Gez nailed 4 x 180s and his doubling out was perfect with 6/6. He took out 158 in the very first game against the throw and never looked back.

Jonny plays van den Berg and has to at least match Aspinall's performance to hang on to the fourth and final place in the standings for finals night. The Asp is 5th in the table on the same score, 22, as Jonny who has a slightly superior count back difference. But it all might hinge on next week when they both meet in the quarters.

Jonny won his game 6-4 in routine fashion. The only thing of note was his Big Fish 170 finish. He now edges 2 points ahead of Aspinall in the table but that looks like his lot as he faces Bully Boy in the semis. It could still depend on their match next week as to who makes the final night.

Gezzie makes his 8th PL final with an easy 6-2 win over Chris Dobey. No fireworks to report for this one.

As expected Bully beat Jonny 6-4 who threw 10 sliders in the game. You can't do that against Bully and expect to win in a race to six. It's true that Bully, and the other top players for that matter, also throw occasional wayward darts but they are far heavier scorers than Jonny and can get away with it. That said, Jonny has won over £500k this season, so he's not doing badly is he? And I'm well pleased for him because he's a really genuinely nice guy who's not only popular with the fans but also with his fellow players. Good on you, Jonny.

Bully beat Gez 6-3 in the final. Gez was 3-4 down and missed SEVEN darts at a double to tie the score. He missed and that was it. Gez still tops the table with Bully and MVG also already there for the play-off night. Jonny might join them but he'll have to beat Aspinall next week to do it.
