Just watched the finish of the Test match described by one commentator/pundit as a once in a lifetime experience!
Was watching the Citeh game and flipped channels during an injury break to check out the cricket score. England wanted 73 runs with just one wicket left so I figured I'd just watch the last rites before switching back to football. What a finish!!!!
England went on to get the runs and won the game by one wicket after being dismissed for just 67 in the first innings. The last time something similar was achieved was 131 years ago!!!!!
Ben Stokes, admirably supported by Jack Leach, was IMMENSE. He brilliantly farmed the strike to protect Leach and, in between, smashed the ball to all parts of the ground to score 135 not out - described by ex England captain Michael Vaughan as the greatest test innings he had ever seen.
It was a fantastic watch, so intense and on a knife edge to the very end (Oz just needed the last wicket to seal the Ashes series). Who said cricket was boring? Well, it can be but it was a privilege to watch this one.
