Oli off for Fer so who's going to play up front? Oli must be tired after his recent exertions but our dumbo board won't even register that and loan in some support. Unless he gets it he'll be done by Xmas.

Celina playing up top. Which is fine but we need to stop playing crosses and play through the middle.

If McKay starts another game ahead of Montero or James or Dyer or Narsing or my dead aunt I'll be pissed.

What an anonymous performance.

All over and comms said we were very poor - worst display of the season. Honeymoon period over and the rot sets in right here unless our thieving board bring in some decent loan players. If we don't sign at least three I hope that Potter packs his bags and tells them to fuck off. They should be used to hearing that!

Just reported that Cameron Carter-Vickers has signed on loan in the past hour. The way we played today, I hope he can play at CB, AM and striker..... at the same time!!

Listening to RW phone in and a number of callers all saying the same thing - that we're too physically weak and it was men against boys. Where have I heard that before? Graham Potter had better learn one thing in this league. Every team is made up of artists and soldiers (something I read recently from a top pro footballer and which I agree with). If he thinks he can get away with a team of artists, he's got a rude shock in store. This, in one way or another, is a PHYSICAL league and a team with too many artists in it will get blown away unless they possess top quality. We DON'T have that quality, so we NEED a fair share of soldiers to win the ball and do the 'dirty work' to let the artists do their stuff.

It's how the lower divisions are - a fact of life and something I've noticed over literally decades of watching and being involved in lower league football. Cardiff won promotion and I don't think they had a single artist in their team - correct me if I'm wrong. I know it's not how we want to see our team play but at times it's a case of needs must. We can still play our football but, for God's sake, let's get some soldiers in there to show some fight and grit and muscle. Once we've won that fight then our artists can paint their pretty pictures and entertain us all. But not before!!

This game was a shambles from the start. Lack of focus conceded that early goal. We never got back into it. Bristol played on the front foot and kept us in our own half. Too many players were anonymous. You can play with an XI where all players are contributing something even if a couple are having a bad game, no player is totally crap for all 90 minutes, but FFS you can't play in this league with less than an XI. Today we started two players that contributed next to fucking nothing - McKay and Carroll. McKay just doesn't go hunting for the ball when we don't have it and isn't eager to get it when we do. Carroll ... not worth a another word. Then .... we take off Asoro, who at least had been having a go in their half of the field, and kept McKay on .... I don't get that at all.

Finally, we removed McB for Fer, when we should have removed Olsson (who has no idea how to play with Montero) and moved Grimes to LB. This left us with Montero on the wing to cross and nobody to get on the end of it until finally we said fuck it and pushed VDH up top. FFS, I could have coached this game and come out with the same or better result.

Seriously whatever it is that makes Dyer and Narsingh unselectable and puts Montero on the bench while McKay starts needs a forensic investigation. McKay cannot, has not demonstrated the ability to, skin a FB at this level. Give Montero the ball early and then get the fuck out of his way (Olsson pay attention) and it happens by rote. We have a lanky fuck in McB as #9 and we start the FB terrorist on the bench.

I give in. Vent over.

That's the key. We've had an interesting habit of playing with desire, passion, and intensity against the big boys in the PL, but playing horribly against lesser teams that don't play as expansive of a style of football. Part of Potter's job in leading a mid/high end of the table Championship team will be minimizing that habit. Let's see a start to that on Saturday please Mr. Potter!
I guess not then hey?
