What's with Benda and the time he needs on the ball to clear/use it? Is he just slow thinking or plain fucking thick? He's so dodgy when he's under pressure it beggars belief. He's had a nightmare today of huge proportions and he'd better sharpen up. In fact, barring the strikers who've had sod all to work off since we scored, they all need to sharpen up.

Regardless of how we setup, you can’t possibly compete 2 v 3 in midfield. We played 2, Paterson was a spectator, that‘s not acceptable, and unforgivable of Martin not to see it and fix it early on.

fucking disgrace that this situation arose. We have Williams who could have played with Grimes and Fulton and be infinitely better than Paterson.

then insult to injury, Fulton was effectively replaced by Lowe that lightened our presence in midfield even more.

Trunds was obviously unimpressed with that shambles today and O'Connell talked about fallout over the weekend. Fallout? Too right there'll be fallout, of seismic proportions I'd say. That performance today was as bad as anything we saw under Cooper and I'm beginning to think we played the way we did under him because we're so fucking useless we don't know how to play any other way!!

The BASICS of football should be second nature to any half competent professional. Our lot looked like they were learning them today - with a long way to go before getting them right. God above! They couldn't control the ball; couldn't pass it. Movement? It looked like it was all they could do to stand up. What we were doing, or rather trying to do and failing fucking dismally, wasn't working because we had an alleged midfield who did bugger all for the entire game. To say they were crap is the understatement of the year and the defenders were little better. None of them rated above a 4 in my book with most of them deserving a 3.

Are they unhappy with what Martin is trying to do and this was their way of showing it? It sure looked that way to me. And, whilst I appreciate what our manager is trying to do, having seen the utter garbage we were playing, why didn't he go plan B, cut out the useless midfield and hit the strikers as early as possible with long balls. At least the strikers have some sort of ability but they rarely get to show it because they rarely get any decent service worthy of the name.

I'm just flabbergasted at the debacle I've witnessed today. Martin needs to get hold of that lot and beast them mercilessly in training during the international break. He should give them double sessions in passing and moving and keeping the fucking ball. And every day he should be reminding them that the whole purpose of playing competitive football is to score goals and passing is but an end to doing that.

That said, the average player isn't exactly the sharpest tool in the box, so perhaps he might need the entire season to get the message across. I'd start bright and early tomorrow morning if I were him and those that don't like it can bugger off elsewhere and fleece some other clubs' fans.

Martin has been implying that some “in the building” do not buy into the dream. Maybe this is his way of outing them in public before sending them to Siberia.

We are getting Jekyll and Hyde at the moment. I realize Argyle are at a lower level but that performance was pretty capable in comparison today. Bristol was a decent enough performance also.

but here’s the thing there are players, e.g. Williams that are getting it done, then being sat in preference to those that clearly don’t get anything close to minimum done. This has to stop. Martin’s boys from the past need to be sat if they’re not going to make it happen. Bennet, Downes, Paterson (especially) are just occupying space on the field and trying to be as anonymous as possible.

whether players buy into the dream or not, what we saw today was anonymity, which is beyond laziness, on the part of too many. Can’t have that. I’d rather Williams or Oli Cooper play in midfield with Grimes and Fulton than anybody else. I’ve never much cared for Bennet, so start Brad Cooper. Put the players that get the mission on the field regardless of their age and let’s go for it Come hell or high water.

as for our cunundrum up front: Piroe is a starter, then Cullen’s feed to Piroe today was sublime, and Whittaker can finish from inside or outside the box. Where Lowe fits into this mix I’m not a ure.
