Yannick Bolasie

He has signed. Where's he going to go exactly? Is he a training cone? Is he match fit? Can he get match fit by Christmas?

We're already misusing Cullen and Lowe ... why not add another square peg to Duffer's round hole expectations.

Let's give the guy a chance , he has experience on his side , I'll wait till I've seen what he can do on the pitch before I write him off .
He only has a contract until January , if he wants an extension or a move elsewhere he will have a chance to prove his ability and usefulness over the next 2 months .

You never know - if he's playing for a longer contract he might pull out all the stops....... if he's got any left to pull.

WTF is he going to do by January. Do we really not have anyone in the U21 that could start ahead of this guy.

In his own words he can play as a 7, 11, 9 or 10 and most recently was a 9. Guess he's just extra cover up front because Big Myk is injured until the new year and Yates, Lowe and Cullen are playing every game atm with little cover (although Cooper made a decent case vs Hull). Perhaps we'll finally see some rotation and/or competition to push Yates?

I'll reserve judgement until we see him play, but since whatever Duff is doing in training is crippling the team with injuries, my guess is Bolasie won't last 5 games. He hasn't played competitive football in 18 months. Hope I'm wrong of course.

Seems like a nice guy, personable and articulate. We know he has ability but he needs match fitness to show it. If he can avoid injury as well, he'll be a useful addition. I wish him all the luck in the world. Welcome, Yannick, I hope you make it with us.

Yes, I agree it seems he does go down a lot but not always his fault. It's a football fact of life that the more you dribble with the ball, the more times you take on a defender, the more likely it is that you could go down. Thing is, these days we're not used to seeing that from our players because we've got no one who can dribble at pace and no one who consistently tries to beat his man. Remember how often Dan James used to go down with us - he was often fouled but frequently, because of his pace, he would take a tumble even when he was fairly dispossessed. Actually Gareth Bale in his prime used to get accused of diving as well because the slightest touch when you're at full throttle can see you eating grass. Mind you, it remains to be seen if Yannick still has that sort of gas....... akthough somewhere near it would be good. :)

With Bolasie on board to win penalties and Lowe there to miss them, Swansea will be unstoppable
Grimes is probably our cleanest striker of a ball, so he should be taking the penalties. But we don't know how they perform when they practise them in training, which might influence Duff's thinking.

100% Fletcher. Hoping his connection to DC means if he joins permanently he won't be mishandled the way Whittaker was, although DC probably want him back.

Re: Grimes taking pens. Again 100% agree. I've said it before but he's never missed a penalty and he's the captain. Seems obvious no?

Actually excited to see Bolasie. He has a different skillset to the rest, so that alone means he can shake things up in the way the team plays. Seems to be a replacement for Ginnelly, who I think Duff saw as a key piece of his plan.

Has grimes never missed a penalty? I thought he stopped taking them after h missed one. During that spell he also failed regularly in the corner kicking department. I’m probably misremembering. I do that a lot these days.
