Will we get the blues at the Blues?

Patino has always looked like a #10 to me. I don't understand how he was considered a 6/8 by Arsenal. He's too small for the rough stuff and too gifted technically to spend most of the game outside the attacking third. A no-brainer to push him forward, and it's encouraging that Williams feels the same.

re: those fans. The only thing I'd disagree with is when the one guy bemoaned the recruitment, pointing to injuries as though Swansea had bought damaged goods. I think the majority of new players have been good acquisitions (Key and Rushworth are joint MVP so far), and the injury crisis can be laid at Duff's door.

Duff favours a highly physically intense style that this squad were not ready for, and I believe he pushed too many players too far in his time here leading to this rash of injuries. Almost all the injured list are carrying knocks from earlier in the season - there's nothing fresh. I pointed out before how both of Duff's previous clubs suffered injury crises immediately after he joined. It's not a co-incidence.

Once the injured players have properly rehabbed they should be able to stay healthy, with the obvious exceptions of Walsh and Allen who have had long-standing issues from way back.

Listen to Mowbray from around 3:35 talk about his approach entering a new club … a seasoned veteran’s approach … quite practical. In contrast what you get out of most young coaches is all about them and their “philosophy”. You have to coach the players you have in a system that optimizes them, not the players you wish you had in a system that you prefer.

looking forward to seeing how we begin

Are we 3+2 or a 4. Parker is preferred in the forward midfield 3 over Patino. Cullen still in purgatory as RWM. Lowe as #9? However, we’ll have to wait and see how they lineup; lots of flexibility in the back line and forward line.

Cabango is apparently injured. Yates is preferred over big Myk on the bench.

And, 👏👏👏nice to see Ogbeta fit enough to be on the bench. It’s been a long time and we’ve never really seen what he can do.

Williams prefers 3-4-2-1, so it's 3-4-2-1.

Rushworth

Humhreys (left side in the back three)
Wood (central in the back three)
Darling (right side in the back three)

Tymon (left wing-back)
Parker (right wing-back)

Grimes and Fulton (midfield)

Paterson and Lowe (or Cullen) as double 10 behind Cullen (or Lowe)

This 3-4-2-1 can also change to 3-4-1-2 with both Cullen and Lowe up front with Paterson behind.

That looks like the the most likely formation. He trusts Sam Parker on the wing. With his system we are going to give up goals. Haven't done well the last few years with a back 3. Hopefully keep possession and score enough of our own.

I feel like we may be about to see a 0-7-1-2- formation...

There are some good odds on bets today, I've got Swans to win, both teams to score and 8 or more corners for almost 5/1. Sam Parker is more likely to score than Grimes with the bookies.
