Transfer Paranoia

Potential transfers that could happen:

Piroe to Leeds for £10m (should be £20m minimum)

Obafemi to Burnley for £6m (should be £15m minimum)

Fulton to anywhere (Middlesbrough?) for chump change or on a free

(Minimums obviously based on last seasons performances)

Hard to imagine the owners wouldn't sell both strikers if "serious" offers come in. At least Cullen would get his shot, and he'd be a beast in League One next season

Anyone else see this kind of thing happening or am I just paranoid?

I think that possibly the valuations are a tad optimistic but I get your point. At least we'll know where we stand in a few days time. But what's really concerning me at the moment is what Martin is saying about Oko-Flex. He says that OF really likes to play wide up front and use his speed and tricks to get at and beat his man. GREAT!! But then Martin goes on to say that we will need to put some work into him to get him to play wing back. Why? FFS, WHY??!!

A speedy, tricky wingman is just what we need to get in behind defences. So why convert him to WB? Why not let him loose to do his thing and attack defenders at pace. In fact, why doesn't Martin allow ALL our players to perform in their strongest positions without him fucking them up by playing them out of position and asking them to do things entirely alien to their skill sets?

This guy is a meddler beyond description. In any field of activity the golden rule is always 'play to your strengths'. We are where we are because Martin seemingly has never heard of that!

I would have thought the club owning the player would dictate or express their desire as to how the player gets used …. Or the player would be better off staying at home.

Ordinarily losing Obafemi, Piroe and Fulton would portend a disaster.

however, obafemi and piroe have been playing like damp squibs this season. Have they been one season wonders? If they walked out tomorrow we may find ourselves benefiting from a more rational lineup and round pegs in round holes. Cullen and OF in combination with Whitaker might be a potent forward line, but wait We loaned Whitaker out. Darn it.

Fulton is a different matter. A seasoned pro with quality should be a starting fixture leading the way. If he leaves it further supports the notion of Martin’s Madness. Do they think that Fulton is being paid too much?
