Locker room at the Vetch sometime in the 1950s. Terry is in between Ivor and Cliff. Harry is to Cliff's left. The other two are not known to me.

Heard the sad news this morning. Got a missed call from LadyGG who's a close friend of the family and no doubt was calling to let me know. Terry, along with Ivor, Cliffy, Lenny, Harry and Mel played an important part in my early life as they were my heroes from an early age. Terry, who played for Spurs and won the double as a winger, actually played #9 for us as a centre forward despite being slightly built for that position in those days. Lenny, #7, was our right winger but Terry never griped; he just got on with it, so successfully he earned a move to one of the biggest clubs in the land.

Terry was a legend for our club and will never be forgotten. I didn't actually have the good fortune to meet him but I never heard so much as a single derogatory word about him. In fact my understanding was that he was a hugely respected and well liked man. Sincere condolences to family and friends. RIP, Terry, and thank you for being such an enjoyable part of my life. 🌻

When I was in junior school ( Grange in West Cross ) my barber Mr Macey, from Oystermouth loaned to me one of Terry's International Jerseys to wear to school . At morning assembly the headmaster called me on stage to show the whole school .I thought I was the bees knees ! Nearest I've ever been to International recognition!

It's pretty remarkable that in discussing the above, some 55 years or more after all of their playing careers ended, we're talking about these players using their first names only and we all know who we're talking about. Nothing else needs to be said. This is what defines the label "legend".
