Garrick has lost something from when he first appeared for us. He's bulked up and lost his burst of speed. He's no longer a winger; he's going to have to make it as a #9 or he's done. He hardly tried to take anybody on today never mind came close to skinning anybody. Compare to Montero ... a one trick pony, but what a trick.Cooper hiding from the rain was bizarre. I desperately want the man to suceed but that style of management isn't going to win you games.
Garrick really hurt his career with that move if he does indeed get a 3 match ban. At a time when we need all the healty players we can get. At least he made contact with that punch.
I went back to see how many points we've lost this season with late goals. I got back as far as 4 matches. We lost 5 points all given up in extra time. We could be in a playoff position right now. I will go back and do the entire season.
Montero was a far trickier player who could consistently beat players and get in crosses. Garrick doesn't have that in his locker and, unless he gets some decent coaching, he's not going to progress as he should. And that applies to ALL the players we have on our books. They have gone backwards and it doesn't help when they play in a team that lacks motivation, energy, a coherent game plan and seemingly anything else that constitutes what could be a successful team in the future.Garrick has lost something from when he first appeared for us. The same thought about Leon crossed my mind, I think it's also fuelled by just how quiet Birch and Curt have gone. Whatever happened to Birches pledge to keep a regular update to the fans ? Haven't heard from him in months. The big question is has he got the balls to bite the bullet and sack him? He surely knows it was a wrong move, but is never going to admit it. Even Jenkins had the balls to rectify a bad appointment. As much as we all hated him, I don't think he would have endured Cooper for this long.Montero was a far trickier player who could consistently beat players and get in crosses. What the FUCK were Trevor Birch, Leon and Curt thinking of when they appointed this useless no-mark as our manager? Is that why Leon has moved on? Did it finally dawn on him what he had done? We let one of our own, imo a far better manager in Cameron Toshack (with Richards), leave the club. Honestly, I dare not put into print what my true feelings are about Cooper's ability (lack of) as a football manager at this level. Other than being able to attract certain of his former England youth players to the club, I can see nothing of any description that remotely qualifies him to manage us. God, I can't tell you how it hurts to say this but even Garry Monk would get a better tune out of us than this incompetent that we're stuck with. In fact, there's FAR better talent/ability managing in the lower leagues right now than Cooper.
I just hate this!! I so badly want to praise Cooper but, for the life of me, I just can't make a case for him. He's not up to it. Period!!! But do the powers-that-be, such as they are, at the Liberty, see this for themselves? If not why fucking not??!! Anyone who knows anything about football can see what a complete fuck-up he's making of the job. He's got the talent in the squad but he's totally ignorant about what he has to do to make the best use of them. And I believe the players feel the same way about him too. Of course, we hear the usual soundbites in public about them having confidence in him but they have to say that don't they? Present a united front and all that - probably written into their contracts. But no one on earth can convince me that these players are playing for him the way they should be. They go through the motions and that's it. For much of the game against Boro, and again today, they just phoned it in. Look at how Ayew, who always gives his best, was frustrated, annoyed and out of sorts with everyone because he can see it and doesn't want to put up with it - even if the others will. That's his professionalism as a top player showing through and why he will leave us at the end of the season to join a more professional outfit. Yes, I know the gluttons who run the club want his wages off the books but, even if they wanted to keep him, Ayew would leave anyway. I don't blame him at all.
I don't have a good feeling about them playing any club lately.I didn't have a good feeling today, don't like playing these bottom table clubs.
Actually, he directly accused the players for the lack of mentality and for their attitude. Attitude??? The whole f****** game he was standing ten yards away from the dugout. He cowardly retreated from the battlefield and left his disorientated troops without any help.Andy Pandy ... in his first utterance today in the post-match interview ... "We only have ourselves to blame".
