Victoria Swan
Key Player
Just shows how many aspects of the game we have yet to master. Atrocious to let this slip away from 4-1. Gifted it back to them.
So it does, but you have to question the idiot players who were the ones that allowed it to happen on the pitch. I have often accused our team of being flat track bullies and this game offered more confirmation of that. Where was the character? Where was the fight? Where was the attitude to stop it happening? Nowhere to be seen is the answer. The finger has to point at Martin.
The buck stops with the manager when you cant defend a 1-4 winning deficit.
I didn't think anyone would be optimistic at this point. 71 points on the table. I think there are too many sides ahead of us.P6 is still a possibility depending on Sheff Utd and those below playing at or below par. But we need to harvest all possible points.
To be honest I didn't find the period when we went from 1-4 to 4-4 the least bit entertaining. I found it extremely frustrating, very disappointing and my anger at the end totally overshadowed any pleasure I derived from the first hour of play. I have to admit, that in our position with an outside chance of top six, I'd have much preferred a scrappy 1-0 win rather than the eight goal fest we saw. Get the result first and we can entertain in other games.Ok, we are all disappointed with the result, but you know what? We saw 8 goals in one game, so we should thank the players for the entertainment.
It was already too late for the top six after the Barnsley draw. Also, we are not ready for the Premier League, and we can't be relegated, so I'll take the entertainment.I have to admit, that in our position with an outside chance of top six, I'd have much preferred a scrappy 1-0 win rather than the eight goal fest we saw. I doubt it, and I'd never count on outside chances. Also, we have the toughest run of fixtures:We still had an outside chance if we'd beaten Reading
