Potter apologizes. OK, so he should. But better yet. Stop fucking around with a keeper that frankly is not interested in putting his body on the line and stays rooted to his goal line as if somebody has nailed his boots into the ground.
When we first visited Villa Park in the Prem under Rogers, I went to that game. In the hospitality section at half time I saw Jimmy Rimmer (
Jimmy Rimmer - Wikipedia ... an interesting read). A sad sight to be sure (obviously never looked after whatever money he made), but the remarkable thing other than the fact that he stood alone in that bar, was that every finger on each hand was deformed. They pointed and bent every which way but the way they were supposed to - I'd never seen anything like it. Rimmer was a keepers' keeper - solid, brave, not afraid of commanding is domain and taking one for the team. He never thought twice about putting his hands where they needed to be.
Nordfeldt is nothing close to Rimmer. We will never be promoted with this guy in goal, and we most certainly wouldn't want him goal in the Prem. He provides no support for his CBs on set pieces and offers no physical presence in his 6 yard box. He was a disaster in the second half.
