New signings?

FFS ... if they're really that good, good enough to walk into our first team, they why haven't they been snapped up by an Championship club. We don't need players that look good in L1, we need players that can look good in the Prem and drive us to promotion in the Championship.

We have a proven player in Fulton ... has he really become shit over night. I don't think so.

And this keeper had better be better than Benda.

Yankee, why wasn't Michu signed by a bigger club than Swans in 2012? Or Kante and Mahrez who were both signed by Leicester from the French second tier? Why wasn't Piroe snapped up from PSV by an Championship club last summer?

These two from MK Dons are young players, and I would rather see us buy them and develop them, then take another Woodman, Laird, Gallagher, Gibbs-Whitte etc. on loan just to see them go in the middle or at the end of the season.

We don't know how good they are. Ivan Toney played two seasons for Scunthorpe (League Two) and Peterborough (League One) before Brentford signed him in 2020.

As always …. Happy to be proven wrong. But we have capable players in the squad, more than capable that have been dismissed and discarded without given an opportunity, while other Martin acquisitions are ghosting during a game and Martin insists on banging square pegs into his round holes. Good business it is not.

Agree On the point of loaners and I commented when Andy Pandy arrived that the influx of loaners was going to stunt the development of our own players and here we are today. Instead of a core of home grown we have tried to buy cheap to fill the gaps that our home grown could have developed into more than useful players.

Highlights always flatter but, if those players can replicate somewhere near that sort of form at our level, and go on to improve, then I think they can become more than useful assets for the squad. But I still think that it's a total folly to sell Fulton and to loan out others who would gobble up the chance of more minutes with us.

We are talking here about two positions where we need reinforcements.

Don't we agree that both Benda (mentally) and Hamer (technically) have not been good enough? Benda was given opportunity in the beginning of the season, wasn't he? I'd sell Hamer and keep Benda, but Andrew Fisher might be even better choice than Benda.

Another attacking midfielder is something we need. At this moment we have two attacking midfielders who can score and assist, Paterson and Ntcham. What if one of them or both of them get injured? Who do we have? Smith? Dhanda?

...while other Martin acquisitions are ghosting during a game....
Which ones?

Piroe, Paterson, Ntcham and Downes have been more than solid for us. Obafemi and Walsh haven't played much. Agree about Cullen and Brandon Cooper, but they are still with us. Whittaker is not a home grown player. Cabango plays more less regularly. I'd love to see Dan Williams more involved.

Martin insists on banging square pegs into his round holes.
Yes, Cabango and Bennett as full-backs, and Naughton as a lone centre-back. Also, wing-backs instead of goalscoring wingers. Totally agree here.

Benda played at the beginning of the season when everybody playing in front of him treated the ball like a hot potato and were miserable at executing Martin's plan. Benda on the other hand was executing ... I would argue brilliantly ... and had to deal with the crap from all the others. Sure he made a couple (2) gaffs, but otherwise in goal he was technically superb and a breath of fresh air over Woody.

Hamer is a poor excuse for a keeper. If I was Benda I'd be demanding a move as he's not getting any chance with us.

I'll be happy for any signings and the remergence of Cabango. Looks like we'll be playing against a promising young Southampton side with 2 16 year olds.

You'd need a longer video for Hamer ... a much longer video just to capture the Forest match when he was under much less pressure.

Agreed. Like I said before, Benda has a problem with concentration, and Hamer with everything else. Benda is a better goalkeeper than Hamer, but still error prone. Too cocky and reckless.

Maybe the proof of the pudding regarding these MKD players is that they are still with MKD's. No reports of any other club showing interest in them.
Regarding Martin, these are the only players he has managed, which makes him very limited in his knowledge, other than Div.1.
It would appear Man. U, are not impressed with him regarding Laird.
