Kyle Naughton

I scan the transfer gossip once or twice a day each day and I’ve not once seen anything about KN or any possible links for him. We obviously don’t want him in our squad and I don’t think he is Prem quality so I don’t see any suitors coming in from up there. The Barry Douglas transfer for £3 mil really hurts his value to other championship clubs as Douglas is probably a better player. I don’t know if anyone has heard/seen anything I haven’t about him but I’m not sure how we are getting this malcontent off the books by end of week.

Kyle Naughton last season:

Most tackles per game: 2,7
Most interceptions per game: 1,8
Fifth best at clearances per game: 3
Second best at successful dribbles in our half
Fifth best at blocks
Fourth best Swansea player in 2017/18 according to the ratings at whoscored.com .

These Naughton stats just show how poor our squad performed last season when he was one of our best players.

Weaknesses last season:

1. Passing: 74,8 %
2. Crossing: 0,3 successful crosses per game
3. Blocking crosses (I don't have any data, but we all know that opposition managers specifically targeted Naughton as our weak link)
4. Often dribbled past

With other words: Kyle Naughton is Niel Taylor, just on the right side of the pitch.

Connor Roberts against Sheffield United:

Passing accuracy: 92%
Successful tackles: 2
Clearances: 3
Interceptions: 1
And as far as I remember Roberts made one crucial block as well.

Apart from Celina, Roberts had the ball more than any other player.

Naughton has some crucial weaknesses, and I would rather give the chance to another youngster than keep Naughton.

Roberts is our future.

KN is good enough for our squad at the moment. He can play anywhere across the back in emergency.
I've always thought, though, that when we sent our "scouts" to Spurs to look him over he wasn't playing, so they reported on the other Kyle instead. They're easily confused.
