Be good if that English/Danish/Norwegian midfielder (O'Reilly?) joins as well. He looks useful.

Now we need:

- four defenders who have enough pace to prevent counter-attacks, and who know how to block crosses and shots,
- two goalscoring wingers who can play as wing-backs if needed,
- one more attacking midfielder who is better than Ntcham in front of the opposition goal,
- one more striker who is good in the air and can score from crosses and set-pieces.

And a decent manager.

Already have: Bidwell, Cooper, Cobango, Naughton. Now that Laird has left, Naught has to go back to his natural position.

Agree ... bit of a vacuum here ... we need Sinclair / Dyer / Routledge types. BUT, they have to be able to cross and want to cross, and DO. Whitaker could have played here but we sent him out on loan.

Ntcham is pretty clever given the chance to play a full #10 instead of this right side nonsense. Then we use a combo from: Downes / Grimes / Fulton behind him. Ntcham is not starting regularly and is not being allowed to play 90.

- one more striker who is good in the air and can score from crosses and set-pieces.
Cullen isn't short but we need different types of crosses. Piroe and Cullen could form a solid potent attacking force but they've rarely if ever been given the chance to play together.

MK Dons replace the keeper we've just taken from them with a 22yr old Chelsea Loanee who was at Gillingham.

"Cumming, who registered a shut-out at Stadium MK just over a week ago, currently leads all goalkeepers in England’s top four leagues with 96 saves while his 74.6% save percentage ranks fourth in the division."

Cumming has his strengths, though I would never sign him if I was a manager. His weakness is run-outs. He is like Woodman, just better in the air.

Also, most saves in England's top four leagues doesn't necessarily means he is a top drawer - Gillingham are a relegation candidate, which means they concede a lot of shots. Actually, most of all League One clubs. 16.5 per game. And, of course, a keeper who faces most shots has statistically a better chance to make most saves. Here is an example from the Championship. Reading goalkeeper has made 94 saves, which is most saves in the Championship this season, but Reading also allowed 134 shots on target, which is most shots on target against of all Championship clubs.

Interestingly, Cumming and Benda have almost identical save percentages.

The problem with these stats is that they don't take into account the fact that all chances and all shots on target are not same.

The other glaring problem I see here is that Benda's save percentage - with a dodgy defense and early days of Martin's Madness in front of him - is almost as good as Cumming's. Which, IMO, would indicate he is the stronger of the two keepers.

If we want to see who is better, then you have to analyse all the quality chances and shots on target against them. As far as I remember Benda made some really good saves.
