Incoming Charlie Patino

19 year old midfielder from the Arsenal academy, spent last season in Blackpool. 34 league matches with 2 goals, 4 assists. 10 yellow cards and a red. Can pass well, don't know much about him but has a lot of promise surrounding him.

If this means Oli Cooper will be sitting on the bench, then I'm against this loan deal. We don't need yet another central/attacking midfielder
Maybe Duff is planning some extensive cup runs so he wants as many options as he can get! :D

Under Duff we play a 3-1-4-2 with Grimes in the deep midfield role and two of our central/attacking midfielders behind Yates and Piroe. We have Ginnelly, Oli Cooper, Allen, Fulton, Walsh and Paterson who can play in both central and attacking midfield and they are all quality players. Even if two of them get injured, that still leaves four. I really don't understand this loan move. It only makes sense if we sell Grimes.

The lad is obviously a talented player, but we can't have so many midfielders that are eating into our wage bill.

Ntcham is now "gone", for all practical purposes. Perhaps it's to substitute for him.

Agree with everybody's commentary. Oli should be given the chance to press his claim. He's in the Senior Welsh squad. He's capable, high energy and can play Duff's game. In other midfield areas we already have Grimes / Fulton / Allen for the 2 deep roles; with Walsh as backup when he is fit.

Perhaps Duff has looked at Walsh and thinks that he's too fragile to be counted on. But then he has Naughton and apparently Abdulai is a midfielder first playing out of position as a RWB.

I know we want to drive to promotion, but not, as we did under Cooper, to the detriment of our own growing talent. With Ntcham throwing his toys out, Cooper should be our go to top midfield player or go with a forward already on our books ... and don't we have enough of those.

In his pre-match, Duff stated that as he's "not expecting to see him again". Him being Ntcham. A not too subtle pointer to all the players ... you don't refuse to play, you don't go AWOL in a game, you don't dare become Mr Invisible on the field. Apparently, it's now "between the two clubs" meaning the clubs have to conclude the transfer and finalize comp etc. If this falls through, seems to me that Ntcham will be selling rock at the Mumbles pier.

It's weird having all of these signings come in with very few outgoing. Either some players are due to be sold or we are going to have incredible depth this season. I want our own youth players to play, both Coopers, Cullen and now Abdulai. I wonder if we will loan Aziz out to get him regular minutes somewhere. Would be stupid to waste these important seasons developing Cooper and Cullen. I get those concerns.

If Grimes Piroe or Wood goes it will open up some room. Duff has to figure it out.

No love for the owners but I'm pleased with the players we've brought in.

By all indications so far, new controlling execs (ie newer owners) are going for it. We will need a deep, internally competitive squad to get there. At this point I fancy is to prevail in playoffs, but optimistic for autos. We have a lot of firepower up top and a superior keeper.

It will be really difficult to get into the play-off places this season. So far all the signings have been spot on and if all our players gel as a group then anything is possible.
