Take a look at this from about the 1:02 mark:

Fisher in goal with Martin's MK Dons. Seem familiar? And we're to believe Martin paid money to bring Fisher here because he could play sweeper keeper when the likes of Benda couldn't? Pretty sure I've seen Benda do better at this kind of thing already. Also I didn't have to cherry pick that clip. It's literally the first one I could find of Martin's MK Dons in a competitive match.

If you watch that whole clip you'll see some more familiar things, like a high back three running towards their own goal watching the other team cross and score (even if that goal was very tightly ruled offside). This Swansea team is making the same mistakes his last team made. I honestly think the Swans board panicked at the anti-Cooper sentiment and hired the first manager they could afford with a high possession stat in a bid to restore "The Swansea Way" and do something the fans would like for a change. Probably should have gone on YouTube first.

How is Fisher still making mistakes like that in the back? He has been improving his saves, still a long way to go. Coaches should have fixed this a long time ago.

Positives from tonight …. Piroe almost back to normal. Cooper solidifying his starting role. Fulton playing a solid game. Wood too.

FuF demonstrating why he’s not worth a start in the Senior League

High back line is not a problem if you have pacey defenders. I don't blame Martin for playing high defensive line but I blame him for playing it with slow defenders.

This Swansea team is making the same mistakes his last team made.
Only because Martin is too stubborn. He needs to tweak the system and change the line-up. His stubborness will cost him his job. Pity because with a couple of tweaks the football we play would be really good.

Where does Martin go from here. If there’s any trend at all, he’s becoming more pragmatic. He’s not yet at the point of self-heresy by playing Benda ahead of FuF, but he’s moving there. Let’s face it, yet again FuF begged to be replaced.

against Stoke Martin started probably our strongest 4 in midfield: AFGC. Technically sound, hard working, mostly uncompromising types that can play Swanselona. We crumbled when he sub’d off Cooper and Fulton in favor of the flowers … Paterson, Ntcham. And then Sorinola, who was running on fumes, for Obafemi. Frankly, a knackered Fulton and Cooper are still better than Paterson and Ntcham. Why did he bring on Obafemi … what’s wrong with Cullen or any of the other benchers.

don’t see how the Practice Cone breaks into that midfield. But, he should provide competition in practice to keep the 4 amigos hungry … or step in for Grimes, and maybe that’s the solution. Allen’s arrival has provided a critical comparison to Grimes and shown him up to be a polished turd. Well, perhaps that’s too much of an exaggeration, but Grimes needs to revisit his raison d’etre.

FuF is one of a few, but definitely the weakest link. If only Martin can commit heresy by Saturday.
