Damn damn and damn again
Relegation here we come.
I now regret renewing my season...
Can I have my money back please.

So we chose to "save" or "cut" ourselves into oblivion. And, they retired Curt. So now we have no pedigree coach who knows the players save the U23 duo, no team of coaches and back room staff, and no reason for any of our young stars to stay if they're given so much as a pound more a week in wages.

So much for Potter's project ethos ... although I can't say that I blame him.

Curt come back. We need somebody with a football brain in the building.

Struggling to look on the bright side, but at least now we might be able to drop that useless Swedish keeper.

And, he didn't wait until the last moment to bail. At least we have 6 weeks until the pre-season starts to find a new manager. BUT, in the interim, get Curt back in through the door to provide some football sensibility and team him with Cameron Toshack .... just in case nobody is willing to take what's on offer. At least this way the players have a sense of continuity and football planning can proceed without the rudder flapping in the current.

I can't begin to say how disappointed I am about this. I don't want to be unduly pessimistic but I feel this is the beginning of the end for us. Potter was the best thing we had going for us with our style of play being so different to what was on offer in the rest of the division. Okay, it was only good enough for tenth this season but there was so much potential in this team providing we maintained our footballing ethos.

So what will a new manager bring? Is there anyone out there capable of carrying on Potter's good work? Chris Coleman is sure to be in the running but with all respect to him, he's just another run-of-the-mill manager who'll play run-of the-mill football just like the rest of the teams in this division most of whom play that sort of game a lot better than we do.

Maybe the club intend to promote the Toshack/Richards partnership as they at least know the players and like to play the 'Swansea Way'. But it might be too soon for them and who the hell is going to bring the youngsters through from the Academy as they have done? Whichever way you look at this it is something of a disaster.

Being honest, Potter has disappointed me. I feel let down. He must have been aware of our financial situation before he took over. It smacks to me of our club being used as a stepping stone to further his ambitions. I understand that he might feel let down by the lack of support from the owners but that couldn't have come as a surprise. It makes me wonder just how bad our situation is if he thinks there's no hope.

Which brings us back to the root cause of all our problems - owners who regard us as nothing more than a cash cow to be milked to the last drop without ever having put a penny piece of their own money into the club to give us a decent chance. They disgust me.

@ivoralljack ... if chose, you now have a whole new set of questions to ask
Oh, I do choose, Yankee, but I doubt I'll be given the chance.

I'm devastated and actually looking forward to no football for a couple of month's to try and get my mojo back. Just hard to get up any enthusiasm for the club at the moment, everything is a downer and nothing much to look forward to. :cautious:

Exactly my thoughts (and feelings).

No matter how bad our situation is if you are a fighter you'll find the way. He is obviously not a fighter and he can go and f*** himself.

'As long as you want me I'll be here' my a***. Just another Judas like Martinez.

Your right Yankee, for all Potters expertise with the young outfield players one feels that had he not chopped and changed keepers almost weekly then maybe the playoffs would have been within our grasp. it's difficult to understand how or why he couldn't decide who was the better, when the answer was pretty obvious to the majority.

I wouldn't be mad at Graham yet, he probably went to the Yanks to get the promise no more players would be sold off. I think Potter was making a stand. If they don't support Graham's plan then he's walking.

I have been told Potter wanted to retain Wayne Fer and Ollsen.
When shown the retained list he threw in the towel...
Can't blame him I would have walked last January.

I would have thought, (and just a thought) that he would have been party to compiling that list.

Exactly. Since HJ was gone, wasn’t he now one of the go-to guys on football matters. If Potter wasn’t involved then raw cost structures are driving all decisions without regard to the best interest of football operations. We can expect zero player acquisitions or strange ones driven by low cost

Well, if you asked me, out of the three players you mentioned I would only keep Routs on a rolling contract. And you all know how much I defended Fer in the past. Fer has been injury prone in recent years and he lacks pace. And pace is what we need in midfield. Who else is going to track down opposition players when they counter-attack? A jogging Fer? As for Olsson, he's disappointed me. Not a full-back I want to see in the Swansea shirt. Paddling back when opposition wingers attack, not blocking crosses, giving the ball away, not good passing accuracy for football we want to play and too many back-passes.

There are many left-backs better than Olsson in Scandinavia who would come to Swansea and play for £15.000 a week.

If Potter and his head of analysis can't see what all Swansea fans can see, then it's something wrong with Potter.

I think he used these players as a bad excuse to leave us. There are also young and talented players at big clubs who need game time. Is it so difficult to explore the loan market and bring a left-back and a midfielder in on loan?

Guys, Potter has let us down big time.
