Fulham game postponed as well

You're probably right but I was looking forward to the game live on Sky and hoping that we might spring a surprise. Well, we all know the saying: Hope springs eternal. :ROFLMAO:

Getting sick and tired of all these Covid cancellations. It's about time the clubs started putting their collective houses in order and establishing effective protocols and regimes to control this disease. Clearly vaccination DOES work, at least to a degree. Latest figures show that 90% of Covid cases currently in hospital did NOT have the booster jab. Do these idiots have to have common sense beaten into their thick skulls with a lump hammer?

I have no objection whatsoever with them gambling their own lives but they put others at risk - the vulnerable and the old. Moreover, these selfish morons are taking up hospital beds and NHS resources that could be used elsewhere. For instance, many cancer patients are unable to get treatment because these fcukers won't get a jab. On a personal level, I had a procedure postponed indefinitely because of Covid. I've been waiting 18 months and likely to wait as long again until I get the operation. Meantime, I have to endure a much lower quality of life thanks to these selfish bastards. :mad:

In a football context, I agree with the Burnley chairman who says: "Get a jab or get another job."

Focus on the games taking place. City v Brentford was terrific. As was City v Leicester. There is some superb football to be had.

Daily positive in Connecticut reached 18% yesterday. On Christmas Ever, with snow coming down, at 7:30 am, there was people queueing in a line going around the building at a walk-in clinic opening at 8:00 am. It's nuts. Almost everybody I know around here has had some contact with a COVID carrier or contracted it themselves and are isolating, test-less, because there are no tests to be had (home-kits have all been sold out state-wide). I'm keeping out of it.

EFL aren't to test players unless they express symptoms now to combat all the excessive cancellations.

Don't worry ivoralljack, that 90% statement Boris made was anecdotal based on a conversation he apparently had with a single doctor at a South east London hospital. He was forced to acknowledge and retract it. UKHSA last report had it at 41% of all 'hospitalisations' were those who tested positive whilst in hospital for something else. 178 of the 970~ ICU occupants were mother's with problem births. It's not all doom and gloom, just fear sells papers.

With a bit of luck my hospital appointment still goes ahead in 5 days. It's been postponed 3 times now with the NHS and once when going private. Longest private appointment waiting lists ever.

Stay well all!

It seems the methodology is same in Britain and Denmark. The media here have just reported that up to 40% "Covid" hospitalisations have nothing to do with Covid. If you get tested positive for coronavirus and you are asymptomatic, then admitted to a psychiatric hospital, you are counted as one of the Covid hospitalisations. Crazy. They use the same methodology when they count Covid deaths.

Let's have a look at the numbers. If it's true that 41% Covid hospitalisations in Britain are false, then there are something like 6.000 Covid hospitalised in Britain. That's 88 hospitalised per million people. At the moment, 868 people in Britain are in intensive care units and in a critical condition. That's 12 per million. I repeat, 12 per million. I bet when there is an ordinary flu epidemic in Britain that you have 12 per million with complications (respiratory syndroms) in intensive care units.

What about the trends? Here we go.

Screenshot_20211231-003043_1.png

Approx. 500 Covid deaths a week is something like 24.000 deaths a year. A little bit more than deaths caused by NHS medication errors.

"The NHS makes hundreds of millions of prescribing errors and mix-ups which contribute to as many as 22,300 deaths a year, according to a major report commissioned by the Government. Errors include failures to properly monitor patients on powerful drugs, poor communication between GPs and hospitals, and giving patients the wrong medication."

Interesting article in WOL today. One person's opinion and perspective about to jab or not to jab.

I would also point out that, whilst the Ospreys rugby team has had to cancel some games because they had 18 cases of Covid, the coach claims that there has been a 100% take up of vaccinations within the club. You pays your money.......

Who do we trust? An anonymous doctor interviewed by WOL, or the official data from the UK Health Security Agency?

I choose the latter.

I learned long ago not to trust any government agency. On occasion they do tell the truth but most of the time they tell us what THEY consider we should know, truth or otherwise. They have their motives but what motive could this 'anonymous doctor' possibly have other than to report what she sees?

I don't now what her motives are, but what she says goes against everything we know about coronavirus and Covid. If there was one agency I trusted then it's The Danish State Serum Institute. And here is the data from Denmark about infection mortality ratio (IFR) for healthy unvaccinated people (no comorbidities).

0 - 9 years = 0 %

10 - 19 years = 0.001 %

20 - 29 years = 0.003 %

30 - 39 years = 0.007 %

40 - 49 years = 0.008 %

50 - 59 years = 0.03 %

60 - 69 years = 0.1 %

70 - 79 years = 0.3 %

80 - 89 Years = 1 %

90+ = 2.5 %

If someone was NOT dying from Covid then it's young and healthy people, no matter if they were vaccinated or not. Especially not from the Omicron variant which is according to ALL relevant studies milder then Delta, Beta, and Alfa variants.

All these matches to make up, could be a busy schedule. Missing Swans football. I watched Bournemouth trounce Cardiff, should have run up the score more. If it weren't for point deductions to Derby and Reading they would be 22nd. Can't say we're much better off but a double would make me feel better about this season. Watch the Mexican League final, Atlas vs Leon. Boxing Day Leicester Man City match was almost one for the ages. I thought they might do it, scored 3 after being down 4-0.

Watched Thailand win a trophy against Indonesia. They perform well in regional cups but are terrible on the world stage.

Next Saturday is our FA Cup match no league action until the 15th vs Huddersfield. I'd like to see them add a match before then. Hopefully our boys are all well rested, fit and haven't forgot how to play.

Our squad has had plenty of opportunity now to get that preseason work done that Martin keeps using as an excuse … no more excuses for lame ineffective performances. This is the back breaking part of the season. It either breaks you or you break it.

Super League clubs will forfeit matches if they cannot fulfil fixtures next season due to Covid. The Rugby Football League has written to all clubs informing them that cancellations due to the virus will result in 48-0 wins to the opposition - or byes in the case of Challenge Cup ties.

In addition, clubs failing to fulfil fixtures face the prospect of a misconduct charge and COMPENSATION PAYMENTS TO OPPONENTS.

If such measures were introduced to football it would certainly focus a few minds.
