  • Cap on agent commissions
  • Restrictions on multiple representation
  • Re-introduction on a mandatory licensing system for agents
  • Further required education for football agents
  • Clearing House established to promote transparency
  • Increased disclosure via electronic registration & transfer system

The answer to agents ....
Make the players pay the agents
When I played in bands the booking agents always got paid by the venue...and the bands.
If the player has to pay the agents he may be happier staying where he is and not chasing the £££££_£.

They'll just add the agents' fees to their demands. By all means make the players pay but agents' fees should be a strictly regulated percentage of the deal.

  • Cap on agent commissions <---- Clubs shouldn't be paying any commission to agents. That should be a matter between a player and his agent, and no cap on that fee should be imposed. Agents can compete with each other by offering lower commissions to players. And, by the way, a cap on agent commissions will not stand up in court.
  • Restrictions on multiple representation <---- This one should have never been allowed. It stinks of collusion.
  • Re-introduction on a mandatory licensing system for agents <---- Yes, if that's they represent random players. No, if a father or mother represent their own child.
  • Further required education for football agents <---- Not so important. People without any education can be excellent football agents. A thorough background check of FIFA licensed agents is more important.
  • Clearing House established to promote transparency <---- To promote transparency? Instead of "promote" it should say "enforce".
  • Increased disclosure via electronic registration & transfer system <---- Why isn't this already in place? Again, instead "Increased disclosure via ..." it should say "A complete disclosure via..."
