I got on great with Ivor whom I knew for a number of years, which probably accounts for why you and I get on given that you are related.
Obviously I saw less of Esme but she was also a really lovely person. When I popped back from South Africa with my then wife for a holiday, we called on them to say hello and were invited to accompany them to the Caswell Bay Hotel that night where they were to have a celebratory wedding anniversary dinner together. I felt so touched that they saw fit to include us in what was obviously a special occasion for them. There were just the four of us and we had a truly wonderful night together. It has been firmly banked in my treasured memories.@Ladygargar I believe I'm right in that your family is also related to that of the great John Charles. I remember talking about it to your mum and we had a good laugh at how tight his brother Mel was with his money.
Wow!! Just think about it. You are related to two of the very greatest who represented the club we all love. No need to wonder why you are such a devoted follower. It's in your blood.
Yes it’s true apparently I am related to both - but that’s Landore for you lol
