Dhanda

Dhanda has played 8 Championship games this season. He has played exactly 515 minutes, scored 2 goals and had 1 assist. Bersant Celina has played 1894 minutes, scored two and assisted once.

With Dhanda in the starting XI Swansea have won 5, drawn 1 and lost 2 games (Brentford and Stoke). A coincidence, or something else?

Until last night I thought he was a lightweight. He played well and drove forward at every opportunity not looking to go sideways or backwards. ( Note send him to play with the under 23s until he learns to pass back to the keeper from the half way line.)

Last night was one of Dhanda’s strongest performances.

@CroJack ... your comparison with Celina is spot on, he hasn’t been carrying his weight and his quality is repeatedly sub par. Celina is where good attacking moves go to die, Peterson or Routs or McKay are much better options for a left side wide player.

Celina was rated the lowest of our team against Charlton with a 4 ! I know he subbed on but, nevertheless, his impact was minimal when you would expect him to go flat out to impress in the short time he had. I think he wants out.

I always find Dhanda drifts in and out of games although yesterday was by far his best performance; he's got quality but needs game time to develop. I didn't think Celina had a awful game, the thing is when he came on we were already under significant pressure and just hoofing it to nowhere; Celina is not the type of player to do well in those situations so in hindsight (for myself who praised the sub) it was a poor decision to bring him on. Mckay would've been a much wiser choice for his pace.

We should have brought Fulton on early in the second half once it became apparent that we were lacking energy and control. Andy Pandy made no attempt to solve the problem in front of him.

What I like about Dhanda:

1. His forward runs with the ball

The kid has ok pace.

2. He doesn't complicate things

When he comes close to or into opposition box he shoots.

3. His willingness to run into opposition box

As far as I remember he has won two penalties for us, which means that he has contributed to five goals in 515 minutes (5.7 full games).
