I hope Liam gets his chance. But he'll need a few games to get up to match sharpness. If and when he achieves that he'll need service into the box because that's where he does his work. I doubt he'll get either from Martin's set-up. :(

I would play Fulton up front. He is in my opinion the best striker we have now. He is the only one who can score headers, he has an excellent shot, he has physicality, and, most importantly, he's got that wildness both Piroe and Obafemi lack. I used to write on The Jack Army forum and here that we were wasting Fulton in the defensive midfield. We still do.

Couldn't agree more. He's great at one touch and shown he can finish. I'm sure he would present a good target up front and give us additional options. I'm tired of Piroe.

Line-up starts Ntcham in place of Cundle, otherwise the same as last week with Manning in the same crazy left midfield role. 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

Cooper on the bench. Patio starts.

Martin is a truly stubborn bastard. Pets galore today.

I reckon this will be a difficult game today. After a dodgy start Coventry are now just 2 points below us with 2 games in hand and a 4 goal better difference. Given our recent form we are now entrenched in a winless run and I don't see any positive aspects to our play that will bring that to an end. I'd love a win but I feel a draw is the best we can hope for. Hope I'm wrong and we notch a big W this afternoon.

Coventry on a good run of form lately for sure: 4W 2L in the last 6, compared with 4D 2L for Swans.

Martin has to know 6 games without a win is sacking form, but he's done such a great job at selling "the process" I think he's untouchable for the time being.

Glad the World Cup has happened mid-season. It's been a good demonstration of how lesser teams playing contemporary tactics can compete with much stronger opponents, especially those playing outdated tactics (Spain I'm looking at you). I'd like to think club owners are taking note of this sort of thing, and I'd still love John Herdman to come to Swansea.

The other facets of the game that has been a great leveler if not decider is athleticism, speed, and work rate. They can trump tactics, and technicals. Look at Belgium as a prime example. Although this shouldn’t be new … if you’ve ever followed the FA Cup, you’ve seen this time and again.

Absolutely. Fitness is the first most important aspect, beyond mentality (2nd), tactical intelligence (3rd) and skill (4th). What's the use in being willing, being able to see the play, and being skilful if you can't be in the right place at the right time because you're knackered?
