I thought it was well reported at that time that neither of them wanted to come even though fees had been agreed. We only needed one of them to come and it might have saved us from the £20 million sinkhole that is Andre Ayew...

It's not very hard to understand why they didn't want to come. The club was in turmoil at the time, relegation candidates, key players being sold, chairman changing managers like we change our socks, new owners who would sell their granny if there was profit in it.and the situation remains the same regarding senior import players this window. Does Jenkins not realise available players don't want to be a part of a club that's being dragged into the lower divisions by him.

Two interesting points from the long interview:
Carlos had a family crisis ( his father was ill) and he told the chairman not to consider him available for this season.
At the beginning of the interview he said that whenever you take on a new job there a moment very soon when someone will test you out. If you don't handle it right, you lose. He had clear discipline guidelines. It happened at Swansea on day 2. No names mentioned.
Any guesses, anyone?
My choice would be Dyer or Rangel.
