Maybe not the greatest performance but then we were facing a form team going hard for the play-offs on their own turf. We managed to produce a pretty decent performance and the radio comms were well impressed with our display. As EVERYONE knows in football, strikers need games to find their top gear and Williams has to give Cullen more time as our starting 9 to find his best form.
Picking him occasionally isn't good enough. Playing him anywhere except his natural position isn't good enough. Always being subbed isn't good enough. Quite simply he is our best finisher. Quite simply he has to be treated as such. Quite simply Williams needs to learn that lesson. Quickly!!! Some stats:
POSSESSION: 58-42 SHOTS: 9-13 OT: 3-5 CORNERS: 2-4 FOULS: 7-10 GOALS: 0-1
In addition Kevin Ratcliffe, who was a world class centre back, has also added his name to the list of Cull's admirers and actually stated in commentary today that he's the team's best finisher. How much more evidence does our manager need? Is he arrogant enough to put his opinion above all those others who think that Culls should be the first pick up front? Listen to good advice, Mr Williams, the sign of a wise man.
PS:
@jackodiamonds didn't post today because he was paying a flying visit to see me and caught the last part of the match.
PPS: Haven't watched the highlights yet but I understand that Cull's goal was another one-touch effort. Always the mark of a top finisher.
