Good and bad...
Great up to 3-0
Bad....... everything after 3rd goal.
Lack of focus nearly cost us we were hanging on for the last 15 mins.... How many times did they hit the woodwork, keeper saved us (again) and still we cannot shut teams down after taking a massive lead....
3 points but worrying all the same.

How many chances did we blow in the first 15 of the second half that would have buried Brentford there an then. Roberts hit the post.

Some stats from yesterday - Brentford first.

Possession: 63-37 Shots: 18-13 OT: 5-5 Corners: 11-3 Fouls: 11-9 GOALS: 2-3

A deserved and valuable victory that could have seen us win far more comfortably had we converted some good chances. But Brentford had their moments too hitting the woodwork a couple of times as did we. It was good to see the character and resilience that the lads showed in fighting off the host's comeback and congratulations and well done to Routs and Dyer for their performances and contribution. Well played them. Well played all!

Our veterans had a lethal hand in each of our three goals yesterday - scoring or creating, there was a level of finesse and tempo that has been missing. Can we really afford not to have that on the field going forward - whether it is Dyer, Routs, Montero, or Narsingh when he is fit. It cheats the team and the supporters not to play them to maximize the team’s performance and chances of winning.

And I have to say that it was McKay’s urgency, high press, tackle :)eek:) and cross that got it started.

Here's the video and the totally unbiased commentary is brilliant! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: We should have been playing 10 men after Maupay's stamp on 30'. It was a mandatory red but, as usual, referees seldom fail to obey the rules of the game if it can do us some harm. Pleased to say that Routs made the Sun Championship Team of the Week and his Rabona cross for our third goal was just delicious. Surely there's no way Potter can leave him out for Saturday and that includes Nathan Dyer as well.

We played some excellent football. Another Routs' cross worth mentioning is the one from 62nd minute.

Great interview from Routs and I hope that Potter has taken what he said on board. I and others have been saying on here all season that, as good as the kids have been, they are bound to benefit from what the likes of Routs and Dyer can offer....... particularly at this level. They have the experience and they might now lack Premier League quality but they can certainly do a job in the Championship. They proved it yesterday.

I'm going to be pretty pissed off if I don't see both of them feature next time out. They deserve to not least because the club obviously means a great deal to them and that counts for an awful lot. I say again, well done to both of them for a great effort.
