He should've reacted earlier and brought in 4 subs.Martin doesn't look pleased and that's good, he has a lot more work to do.
I think Trundle was frustrated up until the goal. It's a slow start to the season and I hope they start playing better. Tough matches ahead, Milwall, Luton, Middleborough, Stoke.Welcome 3 points. The comms didn't have too much criticism today other than accusing us of being sloppy far too often. And that's it in a nutshell I suppose. We ARE a sloppy team and that's when opposing teams capitalise and punish us. What Martin can do about it is beyond me. Obviously he doesn't train them to be that way, so I guess it's down to the lack of quality in his players. However, he could punish the culprits by taking them off and being more liberal with his subs. Eventually they'll realise that repeated errors will result in the hook and it's then up to the subs to make an impression to stay in the team. Mind you, how bad is Piroe going to have to be before Cullen/Congreve get games?
Trundle was not frustrated with our play in the first half. It's the second half we became sloppy.I think Trundle was frustrated up until the goal. It's a slow start to the season and I hope they start playing better. Tough matches ahead, Milwall, Luton, Middleborough, Stoke.
It's not forbidden to score from long shots and counter-attacks when you play possession/passing footballIronic that for all Martin's religious zeal for the possession/passing game we've scored one goal from a long shot and one from a breakaway!
Of course not but for our ONLY goals scored in three league games to be a long shot and a counter attack ..... That's 270 minutes of possession football without a goal from Martin's much vaunted "wear 'em down" passing. What I liked today is the way we mixed it up with a few through balls and long balls in the first half. Maybe Martin is finally starting to modify the fanaticism and become more pragmatic after disappointments of last Saturday and mid-week.It's not forbidden to score from long shots and counter-attacks when you play possession/passing football
Mate, I think you are wrong here. Against Rotherham and Blackpool we created enough chances to score 7 goals. That's players, not Martin.Of course not but for our ONLY goals scored in three league games to be a long shot and a counter attack ..... Apart from that dive (penalty), they had one good chance Fisher saved (and by the way Lati would've cleared it had Fisher not saved it) another from a tight 30 degrees angle Fisher easily saved, and a couple of blocked shots.Luckily we played Blackpool and not a top team or it could have gone ugly.
Don't forget Obafemi's 2x and Grimes deflected shot.we had opportunities to score 3 additional goals: Fulton x2 and Cabango’s header from the corner in the first half - anywhere on
