Seems the lad is in a state of limbo right now and might be available. He didn't have a great time with Oxford last season mainly because of injury but his talent and potential is obvious. He's young, very quick and can play through the middle or out wide giving Cooper options. He needs regular football and, when he gets it, I'm sure he will thrive.

After Brewster our stock with Liverpool must be pretty high and I think they'd be happy to see if we could bring him on. He already has international experience and, if he could regain his confidence with us, he could become a potent striker. Not that long ago they were singing his praises from the rooftops on Merseyside. I doubt he'd cost much on loan and if he found his form with us could be a great asset to our team. Thoughts?

Is Gyokeres a better bet than Cullen? Does he have that much more proven experience and success? Seems to me we're just giving other teams' players valuable playing time rather than developing our own talent. We've got our own 'potential player' in Cullen, so I would have been happier to see an experienced, proven warhorse to educate our youngsters. Someone like Glen Murray for instance. The knowledge someone like him could pass on would be invaluable.
