1st pre season game

A match was played at fairwood behind closed doors against Haverfordwest.
Swans won 2-0
Piroe scored with a header from a Grimes corner in the first half ,while Josh Thomas scored from a through ball by Fulton in the second half.
Two separate 11 s were fielded , one in each half , so the 22 players all had 45 mins on the pitch .
Sounds like a routine easy first workout , but nice to know that competitive action is underway.

I'm sure I have seen him working out in pre-season videos. Perhaps he was going through his own separate drills. Do we really have to suffer Fisher until October? Please Martin, come and take him.

Fisher might be okay under Duff who won't tolerate his arsing about at the back when we're under pressure. That alone should see some kind of improvement in his game.

Here is Duff's second half XI:
Swansea City (second half): Lewis Webb, Ben Cabango, Harry Darling, Azeem Abdulai, Cameron Congreve, Joel Cotterill, Jay Fulton, Jamie Paterson, Olivier Ntcham, Josh Thomas, Morgan Whittaker.

Note ... only 2 real defenders on the field. Everyone else, I think, regularly plays midfield or forward.

In contrast, the first half XI is more conventional, 4-4-2:
Swansea City (first half): Andy Fisher, Brandon Cooper, Kyle Naughton, Nathan Wood, Joe Thomas, Ben Lloyd, Matt Grimes, Joe Allen, Ollie Cooper, Liam Cullen, Joel Piroe.

Missing were Benda (not ready yet), Ogbeta (???), Key (not ready yet), Walsh (???), Ginnelly (crocked), Joseph (???).

Surprised not to see Ogbeta, Walsh and Joseph. Will they appear in the midweek closed door match? Or, are they not appearing on Duff's radar.

Duff said he was forced to play some players in positions they aren't used to. We don't have any full-backs apart from Key, who didn't play yesterday.
