Preston are going well and this will be a very tough game for us. Bidwell says that we will 'bounce back'. We shall see. No one covered themselves with glory against Stoke and certainly not Cooper. I want to see some tangible evidence that he knows what he's doing....... or at least some definitive steps in that direction. How should that translate? Well, I want to see an energetic TEAM effort from first whistle to last. I want to see the midfield create some decent chances for Brewster who was starved of them at Stoke. I want to see the midfield competing and winning their personal battles. I want to see us passing the ball and retaining possession as befits a Swansea City team. I want to see Cooper being proactive during the game and not reactive and I would like to see some substitutions that make sense!! Not asking for much am I?
Unfortunately, I think I am. I just get the sense that Cooper just hasn't got the experience to deliver what we need. He now has the tools but he has to show that he knows how to use them and, thus far, he has been found wanting - a bit like handing the keys of a Ferrari to my Aunt Gladys and expecting her to extract maximum performance from it. Not that I think our team is 'Ferrari-Like' but I'm sure you get my drift. Mind you, I'm not at all sure that Leon or Trevor Birch do given what I've been watching this season.
Still, there's a possibility that things might yet click and we'll finish the season with a bang. Can't put into words how much I want that to happen.
