Will we stifle the Roker Roar ?

Nice set up from Cullen and Piroe, couldn't get a shot off. Cooper doesn't look in real pain, hopefully just time wasting.

At least we turned a lack-lustre performance into a decent three away points. The red card helped no doubt because, even with that, we were ambling along as though next week will do. This keeps us well in touch with the top 6 and it's nice to see a W in with all those Ls and Ds.

We so badly need that extra 10% which would mean a play-off spot would be a formality. Quality new signings would help but what sort of quality can we buy with the sort of money we'd offer? That's the fee AND the salary. Both would be peanuts and we won't get much for that.

I'd love to see an experienced old pro come in, one with character and a bit of bite, who'd grab the dressing room by the scruff of the neck and get them playing with a bit of passion, pride and attitude. And not in fits and starts either or when it suits them but for every minute of the game.

I can but dream. But I'm well happy with the result today even if the overall performance was a touch iffy.

Good sporting day for me today. Mark Williams wins his game 6-0 to make the Masters snooker final; Ospreys did the double over European Champions Montpelier in the Heineken Cup and, of course, Swans won. :) Not over happy with the performance but chuffed with the three points.

Some stats:

POSSESSION: 32-68 SHOTS: 8-18 OT: 3-6 CORNERS: 1-4 FOULS: 15-15 GOALS: 1-3

I see that Liam Cullen's goal was yet another one touch effort. It certainly wasn't pretty but he was in there sniffing out the chance. His single touch goals must be about 90% of his total, which shows that he has a terrific instinct to be in the right place in the box.
