Will we get the blues at the Blues?

Darling should be worth another 8 goals this season. If we're not going to play him at #9, then we should play him as a defensive midfield player and move Grimes to #10. Having that height and strength in the center of the field would bolster dealing with keeper clearances, he can shoot from distance now and again, he can be a heading threat on set pieces and if he's going make a stupid tackle (as he is prone to do), he's doing it on the half way line instead of in or around our box.

1. According to Whoscored, Harry Darling is Swansea's highest rated player. He is the second highest rated player on SofaScore, just behind Matt Grimes.

2. Harry Darling has more shots per game than Jamie Paterson, twice as many shots per game as Jerry Yates and Liam Cullen, and three times as many as Grimes, Patino and Oli Cooper.

3. Harry Darling makes more shot blocks per game than any other Swansea player.

4. Harry Darling is Swansea's most fouled played.

Since Duff, we have harvested 12 points from 24 possible, with 5 out of 8 or 63% of matches away. We are trucking along at 50% points earned - not bad at all with an adverse schedule. Over the course of a full season, this rate would give us 69 points with possible playoff potential. As it is, we're struggling with the over hang of the Duffer era, so if we sustain this rate we should end up with around 62 points, 4 less than the 66 Martin earned. Last season, 69 points and a positive GD would have put us in the playoffs. To reach, say 70 points this season, we need to earn points at a 65% rate. A big ask, but if we maximize the return on the teams below us (currently 8 matches, 6 at home), we could do it if we earn at a 39% from the other 11 matches - easily done if we Win 1, Lose 1.

I love how this post reads like a "GUESS WHICH ONE OF THESE STATEMENTS IS TRUE" article, and yet they all are.
