Where will we finish?

You pays your money and so on but one set of computer predictions has us 3 points short of the play-offs. The interesting thing is that Boro on 67 points (predicted 6th with 71 points) only have 2 games left with a GD of 6. If we, with 62 points and GD of 3, can win all our remaining games and wipe out Boro's superior GD, we just might pip them - providing all other predicted results are accurate. Hell of a long shot, of course, but might, just might be doable. We should all invest in some PPT - power of positive thought!! :D COYS!!!!!!!!!!!

If we miss out but Trevor Birch gives ALL our youngsters a crack at it for next season, I'll not be the least disappointed. PPT!!

@ivoralljack , we should at least have 65 points and be 2 points off play-off places. We have been robbed for one point against Stoke (a blatant off-side goal scored by Stoke) and for two points at home turf against Preston (wrongly awarded penalty to Preston for a non-existing handball). Not to mention many other referee decisions that haven't gone our way (penalties given against us, penalties not given to us, red cards not given to opposition for extremmely dangerous tackles, fouls on our goalkeeper just before opposition scored...).

With a game in hand and a coming game against Derby at home turf, we would have a realistic chance to reach play-offs and possibly get promoted.

7th or 8th ...better than I expected in August.
Agreed. Also better than I expected but lower than I'd hoped. I didn't realise just how savage the cuts would be and, when they happened, 7th or 8th seemed a good place to be as we had so many untried and untested kids who would have to be thrown into possibly the toughest league in the world. It was sink or swim and what a terrific job our youngsters made of swimming. And what a terrific job their coach did in helping them.

As @CroJack correctly pointed out in his post but for some blatantly incompetent/corrupt decisions that went against us, we could easily be in the fight for promotion this season. But then I suppose a number of other teams can also point to unjust things that went against them. It's just that we seem to have had more than our fair share somehow - including the awful refereeing that possibly cost us the game against Citeh in the Cup.

At the risk of getting some pelters on here, I have to say that Cardiff have had to endure some atrocious decisions as well and I have to wonder if there really is some sort of bias against Welsh teams by the powers that be. It's not a conspiracy theory as the facts are there on film for all to see. Incompetence or corruption? It has to be one or the other as coincidence will only stretch so far.

On a point of principle I always ask visiting fans would they mind if we had a Welsh ref for the game... The usual reply is no way.... He would be biased!
When I say we have an English ref every week the usual reply is it's an English league and we should not be in it anyway.
