"Downes moves to the London Stadium for a fee of £9m in a deal worth up to £14m with add-ons. He has signed a five-year contract with David Moyes' side having completed a medical at the club's training ground on Thursday."
£2.25m goes to Ipswich. We payed for him £1.4 in transfer fee. Agent fees + wages for one year = £800.000. So, the club made a profit (without add-ons) of approx. £4.5m, potentially £9.5m.

If we keep Piroe and Obafemi we are a well rounded team. Allen Grimes and Paterson in midfield Lati, Cabango, Manning, Darling, Naughton. Oli Cooper, Fulton, Ntcham. I'm not sure how Sorinola, Ogbeta and Garrick fit in yet. Still have Cullen and Whittaker. Bennett is likely leaving. I hope Fisher improves this season.

I just hope Martin will stop playing Naughton in the middle of the back three. Naughton should be playing as a wing-back or even better as a full back in a 4-x-x-x formation.

Friendly today against Rainbows Forest Green Rovers .
Rovers led 1-2 before we equalised just before half time with a strike from Naughton. The first was by Obafemi.
Second half saw a largely 2nd string play and Cullen scored the winner late on with a free kick .
Seems like defence still needs tightening and keeper still poor , having conceded at his near post and a shot from distance .

I doubt if RM knows even that BTG he's never handled players of that quality before. But wherever I'm sure his skills as a playmaker will shine through.

With Allen playing alongside Grimes we have just upped our tempo in midfield and given competition and aspiration to the likes of O.Cooper, Williams and Fulton for starting places. Naughton as a wing back is going to be much better for us at both ends of the park.
