THE Match

We played very well back in November, we should have won in the last play Ayew's brilliant header called offside.

Ayew was offside for sure, but clearly we can match them, out play them, beat them.

We just need to be wearing the right colored kit - not that insipid light blue/green strip. And, have the right team selection and system.

We played them away from home in 3+2 I believe. I have bleated on about this over the past few weeks, but we need to drop Invisible and return to the system that gave us the best GD in the league up until Andy Pandy decided to tinker.

That was a line up with:
Lowe Ayew
Smith, Dhanda, Fulton
Bidwell Roberts
Guehi, Bennet, Naughton

Grimes, Palmer and Gyokeres off the bench. We out shot them 13:5 to 7:1 but they were better in possession and passing.

Guys, we now have a thread for the Final, Wembley 2021. To avoid splitting between the two threads can we please use the Wembley thread for the game tomorrow.

I'd start Tate .... just so long as Invisible isn't on the field
He will be on the field, and I think Cooper is going to play Bennett. Probably Manning as well.

I hope I am wrong but I think Cooper is going to go for three at the back and use this 3-5-2 line-up.

Woodman; Naughton, Bennett, Guehi; Roberts, Fulton, Grimes, Hourihane, Manning; Ayew, Lowe

If Andy Pandy doesn’t play Cabango, Roberts and Bidwell; starts Invisible and Roberts and we lose .... he’d better not get back on the M4 to Swansea. He’ll be a wanted man.

Good analysis, I archived the link.
But this is wrong:

"This could be an effective way of attacking Swansea, as we saw them struggle against Barnsley down the right-wing in the second-leg that they drew 1-1."

We didn't "struggle" against Barnsley at all. They scored a typical counter-attacking goal. We got caught high up in their half, lost the ball, and they scored. It was not like they were threatening all the time down the right wing and creating a chance after chance. That would be "struggling".

"If I were to put my name behind a concrete prediction, I would give Brentford the edge. The second-leg proved their mindset to come back from a two-goal deficit, which is something we have not seen before all that often from The Bees, and that resolute mindset could come in handy here."

They came from a two-goal deficit because of Chris Mepham's stupid red card, and because they played against 10 men.

"...while Swansea enter this game with two wins in their last seven matches."

It should've been four wins, two draws and one defeat.
