My boy Cullen strikes :D. As I've said so often before and Curt just confirmed, he's the only natural striker we've got at the club.

Cullen has to start the next game. Gets service, scores. Clearly the only real scorer we have. Dhanda - or anybody for that matter - starts in front of Hourihane.

bolloxed up an opportunity to gain on Watford.

If that's Cooper's idea of motivating a team to go for auto promotion I think I'll start applying for jobs to manage in football. :( Glad of a point in the end but the overall display against a team in bottom position and almost certain to go down was nothing short of a shameful disgrace. The team insulted their fans today with that performance and it's Cooper who sets the standards. With most other managers, the team would be afraid to go into the changing rooms at half and full time to face the wrath of their manager. No doubt Cooper congratulated them all.

Liam now has 4 goals and 4 one touch finishes for us. Cue Cooper giving him all of 5 minutes at the end in our remaining games. He hasn't got a fucking clue in my opinion and I've been following and studying football for longer than he's been alive.

As it's been said on many occasions, we are where we are not because of Cooper, but in spite of him. Today was a typical example. Words fail me to describe him. GORMLESS comes to mind.

Woodman's positioning questionable again. He could and should have saved both Wycombe shots they scored from. Roberts 2x, Lowe 2x, and Routs had some good chances. They should have done better. With Cullen and Lowe's goals we created 7 really good chances, which in normal circumstances would have been enough to win this game.

Hamer has to play and Hoory to join him on the bench. My team against QPR who will be a tough nut to crack.

Hamer, Roberts, Cabango, Guehi, Lati, Bidwell

Fulton, Smith, Grimes,

Cullen, Lowe

For this formation to work we need to get the ball into the box as often as possible for Cullen to hunt down. He's not tall, not strong, not quick but his poaching, anticipation and positioning instincts are top drawer. He's a natural striker. End of.

Of course, if Ayew is fit then he plays but I wouldn't drop Cullen to make way for him. Other thoughts include Dhanda in midfield as he has the skill to play the box balls that Cullen feeds off. Maybe asking too much from Cullen as he's only just back and very far from being match fit but he doesn't need to be superfit to prowl the box.

Read an article prior to the game where Steve Cooper said that he was aware of the gap beween us and Watford and that he was going to see that we gave everything to close it. If what I saw was giving 'everything' then God help us; we've got no chance of going up!! Some stats:

POSSESSION: 61-39 SHOTS: 14-15 OT: 8-5 CORNERS: 4-5 FOULS: 9-14 GOALS: 2-2

Note that despite considerably less possession, WW still contrived one more shot on target and one more corner than we managed, which tells me that we are not creating anything like as much as we should when we have the ball. A lot of this is down to his insistence on playing Hourihane, who despite his experience and class, is just not contributing what he should be to our cause.

Of course he's not the only one at fault. Our tactics and game plans are sorely lacking. We play like we are on the training pitch with little aggression and urgency and this has to be a coaching issue. For whatever reason, Cooper is just not getting a properly committed performance from his players AS A TEAM. He's getting it from certain individuals, mainly from Roberts and Ayew, but the rest only seem to turn up from time to time. When they do turn up we look good. When they don't....... well we all know we look and play like shite.

I always get the feeling that Cooper is being out-thought by the opposing manager and my gut instincts are usually, not always, correct. If we struggle in a game we seem incapable of doing something different to change things for the better and, again, I feel this is down to the coach. Yesterday was a golden opportunity to win big and improve our GD against the worst team in the league who, barring a miracle, will be relegated; yet all we managed was a late scramble to earn a draw. I honestly feel that with a decent, experienced manager, we could well be hot on Norwich City's heels instead of heading, if we're lucky, for the lottery of the playoffs where I believe that Brentford, Bournemouth and Barnsley are all better teams than we are right now.

Hourihane is the quintessential flatters to deceive. He flattered when he arrived with a few on the ball hot moments, but otherwise he’s been a lack luster, hideaway. Grimes is a significantly better player. So is Fulton. So is Smith. So is Dhanda, who is our one attacking midfield player capable, desiring to carry the ball and release it with vision.

which gets me back to what I usually post ... there’s always a reason why a player drops down ... Bennet and Hourihane, two peas in a pod. Neither can play football, the way we need and expect it to be played. And the reason is always that element that our scouting failed to pick up on that the home team were fully aware of ... which is why they let them go.

I think Hourihane reflects just how small minded Cooper really is. Seems he'll play him just in case we have a free kick within striking distance in the 90 minutes. He certainly doesn't play him for his work rate.
Seems to me that's the way his bird brain works. To think of the possibility of him becoming a premiership manager is frightening. Our last time in the Prem. under Laudrup we had respect, if we go up this time under Cooper I fear we'll be the whipping boys, and laughing stock under this clown.
