Looking forward to this with some anticipation, Not looking for any miracles, but even a slight improvement on the Reading game means to me our new guy is getting through to the players. He actually does get the ball into the opposing box quicker, and when it's there they utilise it to a greater effect.
Think he's on target for his first Championship win.

Looks like McB is injured. Brewster is not. So there's at least one ex-Swan jinx that could cause us trouble.

I'm not that worried about Sheff United. They were clobbered in the EPL last season. So despite all of their offensive potential they sucked.

If we deliver to expectations on the Martin Track then we should be able to handle any attacking threat they pose and cause them plenty of problems going the other way.

BTW, Martin / Martinez ... what a coincidence.

Much bigger test today against one of the favourites for promotion. Even though we've improved hugely it might be too big an ask to beat them and get our league season on track. That said, I'm hoping that we will spring a surprise although a draw would be a decent result for us. If Martin can get us playing the good stuff quickly we might squeeze into the top six again next year and what an achievement that would be.

We play today, we win today.

United are a disjoint squad with no football identity … that’s why they only got 23 points last season … basically they are a Championship squad. They had no preseason to speak of and a new manager. Expect them to come at us with fury from the get go. McB in particular will be full of it chasing back and fore for the first 15 minutes trying to show off. That will knacker him and everybody out, they throttle back to catch their wind, and we dominate from there.

Cabango and Cooper and Grimes know who they’re dealing with. The sooner we settle the sooner it will be all over.

lt will be a new experience for this squad under Swanselona 2.0, but nothing we haven’t seen before.

Here are some thoughts written by one of the Blades fans:

"Opponent Analysis

Swansea started the season off in defeat too, losing 2-1 away at Blackburn Rovers.

However they find themselves in the same situation as us, as they have a new manager that also wants to play a different style of football to last season.

The new boss, Russell Martin, formerly of MK Dons, carved a real name out for himself last season with his sides style of play. He has seemingly took the same style of play with him to Swansea.

Here is something United can learn a thing or two from.

Martin wants his team to dominate possession every game, but he still encourages his side to get the ball accurately up the pitch as quick as possible. In terms of possession stats and progressive passes per 90 numbers, MK Dons were sensational. See how MK Dons last season compared to the rest of League One below."
