1. The mini pre-season is over. No more excuses. We need points.

2. In his pre-match interview Martin talked about the increased intensity during the training sessions. Let's hope we'll see something of that intensity in today's game. Passing game without tempo and pressing is nothing.

3. Today we are going to see who Ntcham and Obafemi are.

Lets hope we don't see Benda getting 75% more of the ball then he should be, (from his own team mates that is.).

Martin should have had a damned good look at his squad during the break, so he must have his reasons. Expecting the new boys to take a while to settle but it would be great if this was sooner rather than later. I think that when they do we'll have a team to be reckoned with but today might be a tad too soon. Would love a win, obviously, but a draw would be decent to be going on with, so long as the performance has promise.

A week plus without interruptions and this is the best Martin could come up with.
Benda on the bench can only make sense if Bennet cannot play with Benda, which means hoof ball not Swanselon. Hamer has shown nothing to say that he is in any way superlative to Benda.

Downes over Fulton. Don’t get that at all. Don’t see it. Fulton can go box to box and score. Downes has been a spectator and ineffective in the games he has played.

And … Paterson starts. Wtf. Whittaker doesn’t even make the bench.

The only reason for choosing this starting XI is squad rotation. We play on Wednesday again. But this doesn't make much sense because there is another international break in early October. No need to rotate now, we have to play our best XI and this is not it.

If I was Martin I would play our best XI in the first half, score a couple of goals and then make subs in the second half. I fear we are going to concede and Martin will bring in Obafemi and Fulton when we need to chase the result.

Whittaker should at least be on the bench. Don't want to lose points to Hull. At least we get to see what Ntcham is going to do.

In cloud cuckoo land today, thought we were playing away! :sleep: As we're at home I'll revise my expectations to a win.
