Comms on Radio Wales critical of Hamer. A keeper who can't deal with crosses is no frigging use to anyone, least of all us. He cost us two points today and we now know the reason Martin is looking to sign another keeper in January. But the question has to be asked: how has Benda blotted his copybook? And I'd ask the same question about Cullen. Martin persists with Obafemi when everyone else at the club reckons that Cullen is our best striker (Piroe now excepted). I'm reading that Cullen is to go out on loan, something I'm opposed to. That said, he needs games to find his sharpness and rhythm because it looks like he'll never get a proper chance under Martin.
Perhaps the reason can be found in posts above. As much as I support RM, so far his team has utterly failed to find a way to play with intensity and cannot sustain any long periods of pressure. This means that strikers are living off occasional bits and pieces and not getting the flow of chances that brings consistent goal-scoring. Basic coaching, Russell, that I was taught over 50 years ago and it is as true today as it was then. If you want to get the best out of Cullen, have a word with Cameron Toshack who had him scoring for fun when we did the 'Unders' double against the best teams in the country.
