Swans v Watford

The last game before the winter break. Against Stevenage in the FA Cup we can use our fringe players and youngsters. No need to invest too much energy in that game. Our first XI need some rest.

Watford have one of the best squads in the Championship, but so far their away form has not been good. They have scored 4 goals in 10 away games:

Swansea, on the other hand, have been excellent this season at home turf.

Watford have some injuries to their key-players. Isaac Success, Christian Kabasele and Domingos Quina are definitely out. Joao Pedro, who is Watford's top scorer (5 goals), is doubtful.

One of their best players Etienne Capoue left the club earlier in the week so Nathaniel Chalobah will resume his place in the starting XI here.

Watford's expected line-up:

There are many well-known faces in that line-up. Deeney and Sarr have scored 4 goals each, and will be a huge threat. Ken Sema is former Østersund and Graham Potter player. Cleverly, Chalobah, Gray and goalkeeper Foster are also good players. And finally, Ben Wilmot is a player who we all know from his time with the Swans. Femenia has played three seasons with Watford in the Premier League, Masina has played three seasons for Bologna in Italy and two seasons in the Premier League for Watford. Sierralta is the only one who doesn't have much experience - he has played 266 minutes for Parma in Italy in 2018/19 and 154 minutes this season in the Championship for Watford.

Another top six game for us, doesn't harm to get them out of the way at this time of the season, especially if we get a result. As @CroJack points out their away form is hardly their forte. Thinking positive again on this one.

Tough game against a good streetwise team but, nevertheless, it's a match I feel we can win. For sure Deeney will test and rough up our young CBs but I have faith that they can cope. Watford are physical so we must stand our ground and hopefully Ayew will find the goals that eluded him last time out - although it certainly wasn't for lack of trying!!

We need Fulton to throw his weight about in this game, especially to niggle Deeney. Obviously a win would be the best outcome, but a win for us AND Deeney getting sent off would be paradise!

Wyndham co-commenting. Love his enthusuasm but hope his views are more balanced. Personally I thought Cameron Tosh did a great job recently.
