All I'm doing is entertaining myself during this abysmal game!
So was I! Better making a reply than listening to the utter crap we served this afternoon. Surely Russell Martin's job is well on the line now. It must be evident even to the shylocks at the Liberty that his methods aren't working. And it seems to me that the team have stopped playing for him. The trouble is it would cost us to get rid, so we're probably stuck with the useless lump for the foreseeable. In any event, I can't see my choice, Cameron Toshack, leaving Leeds in the Premier League to come and sort this rabble out. And we are playing like an unprofessional rabble.

Whatever, if relegation threatens, which is likely given our present form, Martin will have to go. The owners' investment has already taken a nosedive and God knows what it'll be worth if we go down again. On second thoughts that particular prospect delights mel Those fcukers losing millions I mean, not relegation. Trouble is, they've already fleeced us of so much they could afford it.

Cooper and Congreve showed more urgency and ability during their time on the field than Sorinola, Piroe, Ntcham. Piroe acts like he's dosed up on valium.

Naughton and Manning playing on the wrong side of the field after switching to a back 4.

Fisher being as lame as fuck. Who attempts a one-handed punch in that situation ... shows he's too short, too unwilling, too limited technically.

The only highlights were Allen (who continues to show his class and work rate that puts others to shame), Cooper and Congreve. Honorable mention to Manning for his effort if nothing else.

Can't continue like this. Can't continue with pet passengers on the field. Andy Pandy was guilty of persisting with Mr Invisible and others that went through the motions .... but some of this lot aren't even trying to flatter us.

Do you think we might have taken on board the lesson of how to play when you’re 2-0 up?

View attachment 2608

Thought not
we need to take on the lesson of how to do more with less … as in score goals with 25% possession … ‘cause we’re struggling at 75%.

come to think of it, we should just take opposition off the field all together. Send them up into the stand with a couple of beers. Then Martin can throw down some cones, the boys can pass it around nice and pretty a few times, and we can see if Piroe actually remembers how to shoot.

one thing for sure, this is going to totally mess up @CroJack Xcharts

Listening to the last 60% of the post-match and Martin is being as forthright as he can within the boundaries of his position …. Basically the Club have told him that there’s no money available, you have what you have, get on with it. Could he do better with what he has available …. Could be argued yes, I think we could utilize resources differently, but it is what it is.

We’re dead lucky to have Joe Allen. Martin needs to find a way to get our top players on the field not sitting on the bench, and bench those that don’t deliver the effort and bravery required. Not bravery in passing in suicidal positions, but physical and mental bravery battling and winning second balls … for example.

Grimes has to raise his game to match Allen. Now that we have a comparison, it’s becoming evident that Grimes is not all that we been led to believe. Grimes is not the leader he should be. If we still had Ayew, he would be showing up the likes of Piroe. In that regard, It’s time to give Cullen the chance. Piroe worked well as #8 last season, but he’s not a glimpse of that this season. Players have to be held accountable.

The other take away from Martin’s post-match is this: we are now a Factory Club.

at some point in the last couple of years, could be with the removal of Andy Pandy and the hiring of Martin, the owners made the business decision to shift models. We are no longer a club challenging for promotion. We are a club looking to stay afloat. This is accomplished by developing a jewel every season or two, flogging him for maximum, using that money to stay net cash positive. This season we renamed the U23 squad to U21; our first team is U23 sprinkled with seniors.

forget returning to the Prem. It’s not the master plan, not even a side plan. As he stated, Martin’s remit is to do better than last season. Sooner or later running a club, a squad and “competing” this way will get us relegated. It’s inevitable. The desire to get promoted has to be the driving force within a club, otherwise complacency sets in and this ultimately percolates onto the field as we have begun to witness. Martin bemoans the turn of fates that have denied the team being in the top 4. Get used to it. Complacency cultivates these sorts of outcomes. There are no players coming to the rescue by the end of the transfer window. The Club may not be looking. There are probably no clubs willing to pay us to take one of their players on loan. Laird left midway through last season to go to another promotion chasing Championship club … why … because he saw no drive to be promoted. Why did we drop off last season … because there was no drive to be promoted. Martin gets this. His naive players don’t … yet. But it’s hard for Martin to demand what the club does not expect. If you don’t demand excellence or else you end up with shit.

The factory club model fails with this complacency culture. Martin will fail … he’ll just tire of it, he hates losing, it’s who he is. He’ll want a real challenge. Sooner or later the word gets out and no player will want to come here … not even the juniors into our academy. People want to join winners, not clubs without ambition.

Exactly what I said last year and nobody believed me. I said that they'd figured out that's much more difficult to make profit in the Premier League than in the Championship. Just find a manager whose style of football will garantee you mid-table position, and year after year invest a couple of millions in the squad but sell one or two young talented players for £10 - £20m. Profit. In ten years you are good for £80 - £180m.

unless you get relegated.

The club is passing off a fraud on us supporters.

We, the vast majority, believe the club exists to compete every season to get promoted. We pay good money with that expectation, to watch, for merchandise, carrying the eternal hope that we will succeed. That’s the contract between a club and its supporters. The club have been dishonest with the supporters and broken that contract. There is growing frustration among supporters at the product and its outcomes. Martin gets it. Martin understands it. Martin is helpless to do anything about.

sooner or later, and certainly one by one, if not en masse, the supporters will get it and stop coming, then stop following, then start watching rugby 🤦🏻‍♂️, or even darts where their heroes still aspire to excellence and there is a culture to compete no be complacent. And then the money stops flowing in. And the weeds grow on the terraces. And then, the house of cards collapses.

lf you’ve ever watched a match at the Vetch during the early/mid-70s, before Harry Griffiths became manager, when there were more pigeons under the North Bank roof than people, and the place was like a morgue especially mid-week … that’s where we are going.

Nobody watches complacency. It’s not attractive. It’s not entertaining. We all have better things to do with our time.

This is exactly what I have found myself doing over the past 2 or 3 seasons. This is what happens to supporters when a culture of complacency, of happy to tread water, of no expectation of excellence manifests at a club. This is what results from being beaten by teams having 25% possession

DC United bottom of their league I understand, so guess where Levien's going to invest his (OUR) money? I reckon we funded his stay there as a player and we're doing it again now he's the manager. Wish we could be rid of these carpetbagger owners once and for all, parasites that they are.

We've been told there's no money for new players and, until we get some, or a different manager, nothing's gonna change.
