Yes, 50% is very poor. In Fulton's defence though, it could be argued that he's not there to spray passes around. It would be great if he could, of course, but his primary function is to break up attacks, put his foot in and plug the gaps. He does those jobs reasonably well and leaves the rest of it to the others. But if he can improve his passing ratio, even into an average mid 70s%, he would be so much more effective.
Yeah I get what you're saying. I just don't see how you can have a viable passing game if one of your two holding midfielders is passing the ball to the opposition.

Potter obviously think their left side with Douglas, Alioski and Saiz is more dangerous. But Pablo is their most creative player with 3 key passes per game.
Hate to quote myself ^^^.

And we let Pablo score against us. He was their best player. Bielsa will be glad for Pablo's performance - 1 goal, 5 successful tackles high on the pitch....

Saw the match yesterday but was unable to comment into the match thread. So impressed with what I saw. A very cohesive, high quality performance ... for the most part. We went toe-to-toe with potentially the best team and coach combination in the league and could have / should have won. What does that say about us ... time will tell, but Bielsa didn't have it his own way, not at all. And, it took a play with three defensive errors to let them equalize: VDH got done out wide far too easily, Rodon crossed his feet when he should have easily intercepted the cross, Olsson took a nap when he should have been aware of Pablo and been first to the ball. A trifecta of fuck-ups. How often is that likely to occur. And then Celina with a little more guile could have won it at the end.

Wow, what a game. What an advertisement for the Championship. A complete antithesis to pre-game expectations. Now I can see why our seniors (Dyer, Routs, Narsingh) are not getting a look in.

A sliver of luck in our favor and we could be 2nd today on goal difference instead of 3rd and two points of out automatic. I think we're going to win this thing with a U23 squad - amazing.

If anything I am a tad disappointed by McKay. Not impressed with his performance against Brum. Last night he was not really present especially against a rookie RB. I would have thought he would have relished that opportunity.

As it stands now, for me, Montero is definitely the better option out wide.

Also, I have to say that we played 3 at the back pretty well.

Yes, Yankee. Bielsa admitted he was forced into his early substitutions by our play in general and that of Celina in particular. It was hugely impressive but we dipped in the last 20 minutes, which wasn't helped by Fer going off, whom I thought had a great game.

My fear is that the Idiot will look at this performance and tell himself that all is well and we don't need additions. Yes, I do believe he IS that stupid!! Anyone with a grain of sense could see after that performance, that we have the basics of a very good squad (providing they do it CONSISTENTLY) and that 2/3 quality signings could give us a damned good shot at going up.

But, as things stand, we are wafer thin and when the heavy grounds and unrelenting fixture list take their toll in October and November, we are going to need far more depth than we've got. I believe that Bony coming back will be a big help but we need 2/3 more at least to keep us in contention for the play off places. If we're still there in January, I reckon we'll be well placed for a realistic attempt at promotion. But it all depends on some of the funds that have been rifled from the club being invested in players who will give us that chance.

FER motm for me though to be honest it could’ve been anyone of a handful - I thought Celina was immense, Oli was like a dogged gladiator he earned his pennies last night - VDH was like a brick out-house I saw more entertainment, skill, pace, guts and determination last night than I did I a whole season of epl games last year. I was disappointed to see the slump when FER went off and I’m not sure Jeff fulfilled his potential - he looked a bit tight in the leg to me abd stopped short twice when he could’ve had a shot or made an important pass - the communication mistakes were reduced but still more work to be done in what could be scintillating Football - hearing GP big up FER made me a little uneasy - I hope he’s not doing it to dissuade a move to loan him out (?) but it was some game wasn’t it????

Isn’t it nice to hear all the positive comments. Potter has got those players gelling and improving match by match and the football is a pleasure to watch.
We keep on saying we need reinforcements but it’s the same as the transfer window, total silence from the club, and a load of waffle from the Chairman in last nights match programme. As has been said the fear now is that the owners will think we’re doing fine with the players we’ve got.
