Swans V Coventry

One occasion when Lowe gets down to the byline and not a single swans player in the box.

Forty-five minutes of nothing. Got more entertainment watching Hector licking his balls!!

Don't like the slow play tonight,
We always play slowly. Putting pace into a game is beyond us. If someone tries, the rest just watch him instead of supporting him. But pace is more than running fast. It's crisp punchy passing; it's being first to a loose ball; it's driving into space rather than walking into it. It's a team thing not just left to the individual. Pace is a state of mind and I don't think we have the players or the manager to embrace it. Brentford do. They are yards faster in thought and deed whereas we look as though we are playing football chess.

Forget to say that the way we are playing, a tame draw is the most we can hope for with every likelihood Coventry might snatch a winner.

In recent games, whilst he's still getting up to speed in open play, we'd be buggered without Hoory's set pieces, I'd like to see us more threatening in ordinary play

a better performance, but not our usual standard, a good three points as Brentford and Watford all winning their games.

Bristol on Saturday will be a tougher game.

That was nervy. Nervous about playing Bristol when it looks like we're not fit. Hope he doesn't play the same lineup again. We've got Fulton, Smith, Arriola and Whittaker who can start.

He's got us what 8 points by himself? Surprised we took him off. It worked out thank god.

When we scored I was pretty sure we would win.
This was a much better performance compared to Huddersfield and Forest games. Though it's not so difficult to be much better when we were crap in those two games.

I didn't get a chance to watch the game other than glimpses in the first half when we looked dire. What was about Smith/Fulton that seemed to turn things around.

Another shite performance and a somewhat lucky 3 points. We're not getting any better are we? If Cooper doesn't know how to fix it then I suggest he gets his arse on this forum to get a few ideas. I'm brassed off saying the same things over and over and over  as I'm sure others are. We are playing like a team in the bottom half of the table, not like one chasing promotion. Carry on like this and we'll miss out no question. Some stats:

POSSESSION: 46-54 SHOTS: 11-8 OT: 2-1 CORNERS: 2-4 FOULS: 12-18 GOALS:1-0

It shows just how bad our passing/ball retention has become. Utterly pathetic is one description and it screams one thing to me - lack of the correct coaching ability. No team in our position should be as bad at one of the basics in football as we are and I feel that our results (some VERY fortunate) are disguising some huge faults in our game. Unless a big improvement is shown in this regard it won't be long before we get found out on a regular basis. Matter of fact, we're getting found out pretty regularly anyway at the moment.

Earlier kick-off at 7.00 pm and the game is on the red button on Sky Sports. I cursed initially because I'd already bought the stream before reading it was on Sky. But calmed down when I realised that my Sky bolt-on won't allow me to use the red button anyway. :) Far nicer to watch it on the big screen though. Mind you, don't care what size screen it is so long as we win!!

Will we win? Not sure because we're playing shite right now whichever way you cut it. And Coventry looked pretty useful when they beat Brentford recently. It was a deserved win too and they matched Brentford all over the park showing a huge amount of fight and commitment to earn their three points. If we don't match their effort and attitude then we're going the same way as the Bees.

Cooper needs to fire up his charges and get them playing as though they care about the result because in recent games it looked like they didn't give a toss. This is down to character and attitude. If we get those things right we'll win but if we don't we'll be lucky to get a draw. I'm sitting on the fence on this one as we were that bad in our last two outings. Replicate those performances and we'll get sod all from this game.
You could hardly call it money well spent Ivor.:(
