Swans Trust ... 2021

Today I received an email from the Swans Trust ... the main thrust of which was membership, contact information ... and "what good boys are we ... it's our 20th anniversary".

I have included the body of the email below.

While they noticed that I haven't renewed my membership "recently"; I have noticed that on the most critical happening in the Trust's history and its raison d'etre, they've actually done Jack shit, and were noticeably either AWOL or complicit in the sale of the club and the watering down of the Trust's ownership and its capability to be a force and live up to its one true mission ... preserving the existence of the Club for people like us. On the "Jenkins" matter, the silence is deafening ... is it already swept under the rug and are we expected to be good little members and not to notice.

I don't get it! What's the Trust's value proposition at this point in time. Other than being patted on the head while it sits quietly in a corner, does it actually have any influence whatsoever and more so any capability to be an influence or better still exert leverage and control.

In terms of membership fees, what does it actually do with the money. Does it need the money. Don't forget and that when the old owners voted themselves a dividend before the sale of the club ... the Trust was an owner too, and would/should have also been a recipient of a dividend -- a tidy amount of money as an owner of over 1/5 of the Club. What happened to that bundle of cash?

The message ...
Swans Trust Membership

As we head towards 2021 (the 20th Anniversary Year of the Swans Trust) we are making sure all our Trust members records are up to date and we noticed that you haven't recently renewed your Swans Trust membership?

This may be an oversight or you may have made the conscious decision not to continue with your membership. If this is the case and you would like us to remove your details from our records please reply to this email and we will ensure you are not contacted again. Or if you prefer you can unsubscribe from all future emails by using the link at the foot of this email.

Also with just just a few days before we leave a difficult 2020 behind this is a final reminder that we still have a special offer for anyone who was not a Trust member last year – HALF PRICE membership!

This is available to anyone joining the Trust before the 31st December 2020!

For ALL new member applications, the cost would be as follows:

Adult (19-59) - £5.00 if you join before 31st December 2020, £10.00 from 1st January 2021 onwards.

Senior (60+) - £2.50 if you join before 31st December 2020, £5.00 from 1st January 2021 onwards.

Junior (18 & under) - £1.00 if you join before 31st December 2020, £2.00 from 1st January 2021 onwards.

New or returning members can join online in just a few minutes through our simplified Swans Trust website HERE or, alternatively, our new 2020/2021 Trust Membership Application Form, available both in English and Welsh, which can be downloaded from the same page of our website and sent, together with a cheque, to our registered address on the membership form.

This initiative is to encourage both past members and new supporters to join us. The Trust can only be as strong as its members, and you can play your part by helping us increase our rapidly growing membership still further as we continue to work with the club on a number of supporter related initiatives.

By becoming a member again will also allow you to be kept fully informed of our activities through our regular member updates, be automatically entered into our new monthly members prize draw and be invited (virtually) to our upcoming AGM on the 18th January 2021.

If you have any questions then please do not hesitate to get in touch with us at info@swanstrust.co.uk

Finally can we take this opportunity to wish all our supporters a better 2021 and lets hope we'll be able to safely watch the Swans at the Liberty and beyond again in the not too distant future.

I have not renewed my trust membership since the lack of action at the sellout to the Yanks.
They are toothless and largely inactive and the sooner the litigation against Jenkins and his cronies is enacted the better.
A successful legal challenge and I will consider renewal, until then they can sail on with no support from me.

@The Blobster ... at this point I doubt there will be any litigation. The silence suggests only one thing: some where, some how, a decision has been made to bury the issue amid the hope that out of sight out of mind and people will forget. Was this done as part of some quid pro quo or weakness and ineptitude. Clearly we'll never know. And like you, there'll never be another penny from me.

The last we heard from the trust was that the legal team were assembling their final preparations and would commence litigation in early 2021.

Let's hope they don't let us down .

Genuine Jacks will never forget or forgive , neither the actions of the despicable sellouts ,nor the pathetic response from the supposed guardians of our club , the trust !

Just received notification from the Trust that they are finally in a position to progress litigation in respect of the takeover. Seems that the former shareholders have maintained total silence about the matter. They would wouldn't they! Hope they are right royally shitting themselves about it. :poop::poop:
