Slott got screwed

This is the FA reporting of what Slott said to Oliver ...
The Football Association (FA) have published their written reasons for the two-match touchline ban and £70,000 fine Liverpool manager Arne Slot received following his red card at the end of Everton's 2-2 draw with Liverpool last month.

The report states that Slot's manner was "confrontational and aggressive" when approaching referee Michael Oliver.

While shaking the hand of referee Michael Oliver, the report alleges that Slot used abusive words towards Oliver.

Slot is alleged to have said to Oliver that he "[expletive] gave them everything" in relation to Everton. It also alleged that Slot said to Oliver that he hoped he was "proud of that performance."

Slot is also stated to have said "if we don't win the league, I'll [expletive] blame you" before shouting "a [expletive] disgrace" twice at Oliver.

Arne Slot has disputed the FA's reasons for the punishment.

In response to his alleged comments towards Michael Oliver, Slot states that he actually said “if we don’t win the league, I will have you to thank for that.”
If he knew it was going to cost him £70K, I'm sure he would have made it truly worth his while and made a much more profound statement in language suited to the occasion.

Sort of a verbal Ducks.
Actually, when I think back I can't ever recall Ducks losing it verbally in a game either as a player or on the line as a coach. He was more the smiling assassin type and would tend to have a quiet, although sinister word, with his 'target'. Totally different with us in training though and in the dressing room when terms like 'both barrels' and 'paint-stripper' come readily to mind.

His fearsome reputation was widespread throughout the LOW though and opponents usually steered clear of him when they could. But this jogged a memory of a Cardiff Corries striker who I played against in one particular game. We shook hands at the final whistle and walked to the dressing room together passing Ducks, our trainer that day, who was getting his stuff together on the touchline and the striker said to me that he was glad that Ducks had stopped playing.

I asked why and he said that several years earlier when he was a whippersnapper and Ducks was winding down his playing days, he'd played against him and nutmegged Ducks. Ducks wasn't best pleased and had a quiet word along the lines of don't do that again. Full of the foolhardy juice of youth he did and Ducks told him that he'd already been warned. So the striker took this as a challenge and went past Ducks a third time later in the game. I asked him what Ducks told him then and he said that he didn't know because he woke up in the dressing room!

How true that particular incident was I don't know but it was something I heard often from other players who'd made the same mistake.

Talking about Slot - his team went out to PSG on penalties. Some professional footballers are so thick, they really are. Nunez and Jones both had their pens saved by a 6ft 5" keeper. Of course, they both went low. Every penalty that was hit high went into the net. I've banged on about this for years. Is it so hard for a pro footballer who trains full time to practise hitting high pens? I mean, the poor sods only get paid a pittance, so why should they put themselves out trying to be as good as they can be?:rolleyes:
