Sign Russell Martin and stick with him

The challenge facing Stevie is that Grealish was Villa. Everything went through him, which is why they’ve been anaemic this season. What can he do with a squad that was carried somewhat by such a key player.

That's a myth. Yeah, Laudrup showed them a trick or two, but to show them how to play was impossible. Even Laudrup couldn't make Laudrup out of De Guzman. Laudrup's two sons used to play for a while profesionally but never made it. You can't teach talent, you have to be born with it.

Also, what could Pep "show" to Ronaldinho, Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, Henry, Eto, Alves...? Nothing, but he created a fantastic team by "just" telling them how to play his tiki-taka style of football, which is something one of the best players ever, Diego Maradona, failed to do as a manager. And I am pretty sure Maradona was more qualified to "show his players how to play" than Pep.

Possibly be their Laudrup and show them how to play, not just tell them?
That's a myth.
I see the point you make but a quote from the horse's mouth, the 'horse' in question being Wayne Routledge, who originally made the observation about Laudrup showing rather than telling the lads about certain things in training. Granted you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear as the saying goes but it can't hurt to have a coach who can do all the necessary better than the people he's coaching. I can speak from personal experience - despite having 'retired', I continued to train with the team and Ivor showed me so many things that would have improved my game out of sight had I still been playing. So much so that I briefly considered putting the boots on again. Just wasn't fit enough though and my entire game was based on fitness.
