Ever make a really bad decision in your life? Of course you have. We all have and I made one tonight when I tuned into this game. I hesitated about where to post this because the word 'football' is in the title and I didn't see any! Both teams, mindful of their positions in the Championship table for very different reasons, elected to make seven changes each to their usual lineups. And what a horror story of a spectacle they turned in. Long before the end I'd lost the will to live!!

Thinking back, quite why I continued to watch is beyond me but I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I don't think either team managed to pass the ball three times in succession during the entire match. Aimless balls were regularly punted in the general direction of the opposing goal and low-flying birds were in grave danger of being knocked out of the air. It was DIRE! There was a complete absence of skill including the basics that any decent schoolboy should have mastered. The United fans must have had a crystal ball because the crowd numbered just over 6,000 and they should have been paid having had to witness that.

If United get promoted, and the players I saw tonight are part of their squad, they'll be back down quicker than I can get to the toilet after a double dose of liver salts. My God, they were awful and the Cardiff lot equally poor. For the record Cardiff won with a goal from young Cian Ashford who was one of only a couple of decent players on show. I can truly say that I hope I will never have to witness a game like that again and, if football ever dropped to this sort of standard, I'd take to watching netball or something exciting like that.
